in my small, suburban, white, we-have-an-official-holiday-for-the-church town there's this intersection that's like the unofficial protest square. during the Bush years my mom and I would stand with the Women in Black on one side, and occasionally would get a small crowd in all-American clothes and flags and stuff with "support our troops" on the opposite corner as us. by the end our signs always read "support our troops- bring them home" Today there was one single oldish white man standing by himself on that corner, with a sign that said "RESIST- Veterans against Trump" and idk it was just really important to me that he was there and there might be some hope that our overwhelmingly white communities are learning

the other thing that’s just really fucking crazy about people saying you shouldn’t celebrate a Nazi getting punched is that if you asked them 5 minutes ago “does anyone ever deserve to get punched” they’d probably say yes, considering a lot of people were fucking okay with “kill the terrorists families”
like ok pls just realize you have agreed there are circumstances that require punching and not agreed that Debating whether or not we Need a Race of People is one of those circumstances
