last one for the night, i'm making these very spontaneously, so apologies for not combining them all into a single post.
they say that home is where the heart is
this has probably been said already, but. i think the reason why peri is so obsessive about rules is *because* he's the most powerful fairy. he knows there's pressure to succeed with his first godkid so there's the overcompensation, but there's also the very real possibility that he's scared of his own power.
notice when he's with dev that his granting wishes seems very minimum-effort; we know how much he cares about dev, so i think this is more likely because he's being extremely careful with his powers. he doesn't bend the rules like his parents, he doesn’t find loopholes like timmy, because he feels he has extra cause to be careful. he's probably been told how his tantrums would destroy cities when he was just a baby, so can you imagine how much pressure he's under to keep it cool?
i think this is what affected his relationship with dev too, to an extent. he tried to do his job by the book, fundamentally misunderstanding the fact that your godkid's wishes weren't going to be straightforward, and you still had to be a god*parent* for them, which peri didn’t do, perhaps out of fear of failure.
consider how in the battle of the dimmsonian, peri wishes he could have been a dentist instead of a godparent. as you watch the episode it seems like he states this out of annoyance of dev, but in hindsight, he possibly said this because he felt like his powers were responsible for this, and he had already been messing up so much for his godkid. to him, dentistry has less room for failure, because it's tight, definable, routine, unlike working as a godparent.
anyway these are my two cents

the bg3 companions in the mlp universe!! this also takes place in an au where they take the place of the mane six. details under the cut!
gaz'elle the griffon, element of loyalty - griffons serve their queen gaabith, who secretly practices dark magic. gaabith sealed away the only griffon destined to defeat her - prince gopherus - in an artefact, which has recently been stolen by lossan missives. gaz'elle is a young griffon who was tasked with finding this artefact. however, she along with many others were kidnapped and cursed by changelings, only able to narrowly escape with the help of a suspicious pony. she now has a mark on her front legs tying her to a mysterious force, as well as symbolizing the curse she shares with five others. her loyalty is intense and unwielding, and if anyone were to betray it, they will regret the day.
shadowheart the unicorn, element of magic - shadowheart is the only remaining lossan from the mission to retrieve a griffon artefact. not long after the mission, she was kidnapped by changelings, but somehow the artefact protected her from their magic. however, the changelings' curse on her remains, and she reluctantly had to take the help of a griffon to narrowly escape. lossans remove cutie marks and prevent them from being gained in their youth; since shadowheart was raised by her sect, she never got a cutie mark. not until she faces her destiny in the cursed shadowlands, and realizes that perhaps friendship isn't so terrible. after all, lost night isn't the only alicorn of the moon.
star fall the batpony, element of inspiration - star was once a pegasus, but he is now forced to hide his bat-like wings and sharp teeth and pretend to be an earth pony, generally wearing a cloak. as a batpony, he must feed on blood to survive, but he has never tasted the blood of anything that talks. his master, sharp mask, ordered him to lure them in and give them to him, and star never saw them again. one night while trying to escape again from sharp mask, he was kidnapped by changelings, and managed to slip away while two others made a chaotic escape. he is now marked with yet another curse, but if he plays his cards right, it could lead to his freedom. perhaps any heroism he finds along the way could inspire the freedom of other batponies, but that's pretty far-fetched, at least in his opinion.
swirling gale the unicorn, element of honesty - gale was the apprentice and lover of mystic melody the alicorn, until he made a grave mistake. he overestimated his magic power and tried to return a twisted piece of mystic's power to her, but instead this power was unleashed unto him, and he is forced to keep it inside of himself and feed it magic to keep it sated. mystic could not accept the truth, so he was banished from her. later, he was kidnapped by changelings, and only barely managed to escape with a mark of another curse. maybe he needs to start being a bit more honest to himself about his intentions.
wander ravenguard the earth pony, element of kindness - wander is the son of duke usher ravenguard, and was raised to someday lead baldur's gait. when he uncovered an evil plot that was forming amongst some dragons, he was offered power by mizora, an umbrum. he weighed his options and took the pact, trading his eye for the ability to vanquish evil foes. as consequence, his father deeply distrusted umbrums, and banished his son. much later, while wander was tasked to hunt down an evil umrbum, he was kidnapped by changelings, and narrowly managed to escape with a mark of their curse. he quickly found the umbrum he was hunting with the help of others who shared the mark, only to discover that she was actually a kirin, who had been similarly cursed by changelings. when he decided to spare her, his form was changed to resemble a monster, but wander is learning that the inside is what counts.
brimstone burn the kirin, element of laughter - brimstone was separated from other kirins when she was very young, and she was taken in by ember gambit, who she looked up to as an older brother. that was until he sold her to umbrums to fight in the crystal war, and her heart was replaced with an engine by a terrible spell. when changelings passed through the area, she saw her chance to escape; not without the changelings catching her and cursing her first, but she got out of there either way, even if she now has a weird mark. she's going to take every chance she can to enjoy her newfound freedom while she embarks on a fun quest to find a cure or whatever, while she still has the time. she has no idea how long she has, so she needs to make the most of it.
