I’ve been toying around with what the Two Face/Dent system looks like for a while now and I just spent like, an hour writing out my thoughts on the 6 alters in their system! And you know what I’m calling the system as a collective? The Justice System 😭🥰 with their source being named Justice because the pun is RIGHT THERE and it’s PERFECT
Okay, so calling Two-Face "Harv" DOES come from BTAS. I thought that could be the case, but I wasn't sure. I'm WAY more a comic person than a TV show person, so it's been a long time trying to get through all of BTAS.
(The rest of your response was also great to read, I'm just too tired to respond to everything)
Yesss and tbh BTAS truly gave with both hands RE: Two Face 😭 like we got a canon non-TF name AND we got a canon third alter?! Also even though it’s not a ship of mine, the TF/Poison Ivy dynamic was fun haha. BTAS Two Face remains my favorite design for them too, it’s such a classic! They did so well with him.
If you ever just want the specific season/episode numbers for the TF ones to return to, just lemme know lol

One question, why don't you lighten up?

L is for the way you look at me
.

(take my heart and please don't break it)

I wasted like half of my summer tryna hold on your hand

what’s going on down there, batsy?

Hey, can you explain to me why so many people call Two-Face "Harv" in fanworks?
I know in a few comics, Two-Face calls Harvey "Harv" but I've never seen it the other way around.
I get the want to give Two-Face a name that isn't.... well, Two-Face, but I've never liked it being "Harv" both because it's a part of Harvey's name and because of what I mentioned above.
The first time that "Two Face" ever receives a name other than TF is in BTAS—in fact, afaik BTAS is the only place he's ever given a name like this—and they call him "Big Bad Harv." Technically, Harvey is the one who names him in therapy so that he can address/talk about "his" darker impulses/violent tendencies, but still. I've never seen BBH used for TF in anything other than BTAS but it stuck around! Most likely in large part because it's the only canon non-TF name we're given. But I think it also appeals to people in the same gimmicky way that "Two Face" does lol (a little cheesy, a little on the nose, but it gets the point across in a fun way).
I do see people who refer to the TF alter exclusively as Big Bad! Though of course most of the time we see people use Harv instead.
But I've also seen fanworks that intentionally give TF/Harv a different name because of the same reasons! I've seen him be called Apollo a few times (because in theory there could be an alter in the Harvey/TF system who resonates with that nickname) and one author—in a phenomenal piece called A Day in Two Lives—named him Alastor, which is the name of a Greek god who represents justice and vengeance (chosen to parallel the Apollo title). I've also seen him named Christopher, which is the name of Harvey's father, because sometimes alters can take on traits of the system's abusers.
I agree that using Harv can be... complicated because it's so tied into Harvey's name/identity. I also don't necessarily think calling him Two Face exclusively is bad in and of itself because in some cases, it's a name he chose for himself and that's a pretty big deal within systems! Especially for non-Host alters. For the most part he seems comfortable with it, so I think it can be assumed it's affirming.
My motivation for using Harv is primarily because I think it's more humanizing than Two Face! As a system, it's nice to see the individuality recognized and I think their distinction can get lost behind "Two Face" sometimes. So I tend to use Two Face for Harvey/Harv the same way you might use Batman for Bruce—as a persona or costume that, in their case, represents their supervillain identity but not who they are "underneath." But ultimately imo as long as the distinction is recognized, the specifics for the names used for both feel less significant!
because i’m me and more people are seeing it now, i’m definitely going to make a post about the DID fakeout we had in joker folie a deux because wow was that disappointing
has bruharvey fucking in a courtroom been done before? or do i add it to my kinktober prompt list? because that absolutely has to be done

finally done with the series that's been plaguing my dreams for a month

Taking a break in an alleyway

"i guess it's not that bad"
inspired by that panel from dc pride (2023) where tim complained about being constantly paired up with damian for patrols
tim stole that ipod from dick btw. dick's looking for it right now. he's digging through the box of miscellaneous cords for it

Two FAce Attorney for DC Gotcha for Gaza! (prompts closed!) Okay the prompt was just to draw Two Face but I've had this joke in my mind for so long that I had to draw it heheh

There was always a certain shift that happened in Batman whenever he talked to kids that were hurt or scared. He would speak more softly, maybe even kneel down in front of them to personally assure them that they were safe now.
My first piece for this year's @batfam-big-bang! This is a scene from the incredible fic by @fullmetalninjabunny called 'Soft Words Left Unspoken' which you can find here <- 🦇 I had a blast working on this! Thank you so much for having me and also thank you to the mods for a great event <3

An image of Tim Drake as Robin and Bruce Wayne as Batman inside the Batcave. Both characters have their masks off. Tim is sitting on top of a medical bed and is looking to the side with tears streaming down his face. Bruce kneels down in front of him, looking troubled. He is holding Tim’s Mask in his right hand. In the foreground are four boxed captions with the following text, “It wasn’t Batman who was there anymore, but Bruce Wayne. Not the vigilante that had lost a protégé, but the man who has lost his son.”

Joker and Bruce’s battle hurt my soul 😭
This piece took me I think 7+ hours, but IT WAS WORTH IT!!!

I'm incorrigible because every time I open the Doc I'm writing today's yesterday's Kinktober prompt in, I switch back over to my tumblr tabs jfccc
Hey, another person answering the TF and MK question cause why not?
MK I know only from the TV show and I like them and their story cause it just feels so compelling, it was incredibly entertaining and the characters just have a lot to give, plus (and this was before I really knew anything about DID) I thought that it was very interesting that they were doing the whole “second personality” thing without making one good and one evil, they just were and that felt like interesting storytelling.
As for Harvey I feel like it’s the tragedy and drama of his story, it’s also compelling and entertaining, it’s got a lot to give. The thing with comics is that pretty much every writer is writing a different version of the character, I haven’t really seen one in which he is portrayed as having DID and while part of what I like about him is the different ways in which you can interpret him, I adore the fandom version in which he does have DID because I feel like it opens the door to such interesting takes on the character, specially when TF isn’t just evil Harvey, and makes the whole Harvey wasn’t a perfect man thing have a lot more weight, plus I also think it would be cool to see the Judge used in other stories.
That’s what I’ve got to say.
Hope you have a good day/night :D
Your point about the canon-ness of TF's DID is something I've definitely thought about! I think I see him canonically diagnosed with schizophrenia more often than with DID. Which is SO WEIRD to me (but also not because it's a very frequent misdiagnosis lol) because even though it's not canonically recognized, CLEARLY that's what most of the writers are going for (using "us/we" pronouns, using two different voices even when written in comics, etc.) but the point about fandoms is so right! One of my favorite parts about the characters I love most is what the fandom is able to do with them and it's definitely cool to see the validity and nuance we (both system and non-system fans) can give them! We get to add the canon backstory and the IRL MH struggles to create an angsty character that knows no bounds lol.
It's definitely a big difference from MK because MK not only canonically has DID but also talks about it OFTEN. It's cool that, even though there's a lot in the MK story that can still be interpreted otherwise, that's something that can't be misconstrued! And bless them for doing all that because WOW a DID (anti)hero is SO COOOOL, a whole new layer of identity porn haha
Love to see non-systems who can see beyond the ~DID means x alter is good and y alter is bad~ because truly that's the worst part about this (ie hero/villain) representation!
GOD okay i'm still thinking about joker folie a deux and how i just sat in the theater like "what the fuck did i just watch" as the credits rolled bc truly, no matter WHAT the reason for going to see it was? you walk away unhappy. going to see the well developed dc characters? bad. the singing? BAD. the lady gaga performance? bad. the joker character? BADDDD BAD BAD. it's all SO BAD! i will admit that i didn’t hate it as much as i thought i would, but i definitely didn’t like it
