How the hell do you even ship sth like Teutonic Knights/Knights Templar? I doubt the latter would've had a personification to begin with. The only reason the Teutonic Knights had one in the first place was bc it would eventually come to represent the country of Prussia. Otherwise I doubt it was normal for religious orders to be personified. It's a really stupid idea when you think about it and it's even stupider if you thought this idea up just for a ship. Not everything has to be a ship I stg.

This is beautiful.

The Mysterious Black Jacket’s Origins

Fandom has been in an uproar ever since Levi appeared in a black jacket and Isayama said the jacket originally belonged to someone else. Why? Because our beloved Hange appeared also wearing a black jacket AS SEEN BELOW!

The Mysterious Black Jackets Origins

Cool, right? Levihan fandom speculates that the jacket was Hange’s first.

But then Erwin appeared wearing a black jacket.

And the eruri side of Tumblr decided it fit Erwin best, so it must have been his first!

But what if that’s not the case?? WHAT IF THE JACKET BELONGED TO SOMEONE eLSE FIRST? SOMEONE NOT ERWIN, HANGE, OR LEVI?!

“What?” you ask. “How can that be? You’re not telling us that the jacket is a fabled mystic heirloom item, handed down and shared among the elite of the Survey Corps, are you?”

Well, no. But also yes.

“BUT WHOSE JACKET WAS IT FIRST?!” you scream at me because I’m drawing this post out way too long.

WHOA NELLY. FEAR NOT GOOD READER!!!! U DON’T HAVE TO WONDER a MOMENT LONGER! I HAVE FOUND THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE JACKET OF LEGEND.

bEHOLD!!!

The Mysterious Black Jackets Origins

TIS NONE OTHER THAN KEITH SHADIS HIMSELF.

He must have passed on The Legendary Jacket of Foreveralone.jpg. The question is…WHO DID HE GIVE IT TO? His successor, Erwin? The obviously better swordsman, Levi? ENERGETIC ADMIRING HANGE????

My theory is Hange. That’s the real reason she’s so pissed off when Keith tells his story. All this time she thought that he’d given her The Legendary Jacket of Badassery, but really he doomed her–and Levi, by extension, since she let him borrow it–to foreveraloneness.

In a fit of rage she tried to throw it away, but Erwin, for the first time in his life, felt real pity for an inanimate object, and he rescued it (very heroically probably, as the wind caressed his face and the rain flattened his perfect hair in the major storm he braved to fish it out of the trash). It fits him and his tragically brooding self. He had to prove to us how willing he was to give up EVERYTHING for his goals.

(Also please take note of the Legendary Cravat of Foreveralone.jpg. Is it possible that after witnessing Carla’s wedding to Grisha that he gave it to Levi? HAS LEVI BEEN WEARING IT ALL THIS TIME WITHOUT KNOWING ITS TRUE NAME??? TUNE IN NEXT TIME FOR: “HE THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A REGULAR CRAVAT.”)

While there is certainly an argument to be made that Present Mic got over it, I can’t see how anybody can reasonably say Aizawa did. After Shirakumo’s death, Aizawa completely shut off his emotions, cut himself off from his friends, buried himself in his work, and refused to let people talk about Shirakumo in his presence. Canon goes out of its way to show Aizawa never got over Shirakumo’s death.

With that in mind, I think this also explains why Aizawa seemed to handle the Kurogiri thing so much better than Mic. For Aizawa, he never got over Shirakumo’s death so the revelation wasn’t as Earth shattering. For Mic though, it was because he had moved on that it was so hard for him to process. This is why Aizawa was able to calmly talk about Kurogiri all the time after Tartarus while Mic was seething and threatening violence.

Why does everyone act like Mic and Aizawa never processed Oboro’s death? Like yeah that’s a cool angsty concept but. The thing that hit me SO hard with Kuroguri isn’t “oh this is their dead best friend who they never got to process their grief for that suddenly came back Different”, it’s “these two people worked through and processed their best friend’s death, only to, 15 years later, reunite with him but he’s Different and not who they knew, so now their old grief that they worked through in order for it to be bearable is being dredged back up and they don’t even know if they’ll be able to get their friend back so it could all just be for nothing”. Like that scene made me cry because that grief is something they learned to live with! They learned how to keep going with! And now he’s back but not in a way they would ever want, just dragging up old feelings for someone who might as well be a ghost.
