I think an underrated moment in third life of when Grian (green life, can’t attack first) gets surrounded by two red lives (can kill him at will), and meanwhile scar (red, can hit first) gets trapped in a hole with two or three green lives (can’t attack him)

at first we have a soft hostage situation, where Ren is asking scar for the banner back, and implying that if he doesn’t comply, he’ll kill Grian. Except scar is in a hole, and doesn’t understand that last bit because he doesn’t know that grian’s been cornered, and he is more concerned with being surrounded by the enemy team. Meanwhile Grian has a netherite sword, fresh new potions courtesy of Scott, and a reputation for being good in a fight. So ren and I think it’s skizz start to get cold feet, and basically decide they aren’t going to risk attacking Grian at which point we have a COMPLETE reversal of the hostage situation. Scar has buried himself, and is being chased and cut off by a bunch of greens. At first, this doesn’t seem too treacherous, except that they keep getting in his way, and if he hits one of them, the whole pack will attack him. So now Grian is the one who has to protect SCAR despite having just been held at sword point himself. Scar is the one being held hostage, and Grian has to convince him to give the banner up, to let him out of the stalemate he got himself in

and then classic scar, convinces them all that he’s sufficiently threatened and agrees to give them the banner, only to run off with Grian anyway
