I...I don’t get it. This is not 1996 nor 2008. There are a vanishing number of real-world Hank Hills out there, and an increasing number of Dale Gribbles (but without the absolute physical cowardice, and without some of self-selected verbal filters).

I foresee not some wry take of fairly-realistic people in a Texas suburb, but some fantasy version of Arlen which can’t possibly exist.
