how about 18 + 39 with (of course) jimin 🥺 i love you so much

“Here, drink this. You’ll feel better.” and “Don’t cry.”

jimin x reader (oc) genre: angst; fluff word count: 500+

a/n: hi luna I love you so much! <3 This is very Dear in the fact that it talks about her past relationships and her issues with her dad so sorry about the lack of reader insert and the more specificity to the character in this one lol.

If Jimin saw your ex-boyfriend in that moment, well, he might have taken a prison sentence for murder. Or at least assault. Because hearing your cries through the phone as you sat inside your apartment dealing with the damage that guy left you with was leaving him with a deep rage.

Using his “emergency” key to let himself into your apartment, he called out your name, his eyes quickly catching you as you sat up on the sofa.

“Why does every man leave me as if I’m nothing?” You asked, your voice broken as a sob left your throat.

“Oh, Dear,” he sighed. And just like that, the rage dissipated, and his only concern was tending to you; making you feel better; showing you the care and love you were deserving of.

Taking strides across the room, he reached you within seconds, kneeling in front of you as you looked to your lap.

“What’s wrong with me?” You questioned, Jimin shaking his head immediately.

“Absolutely nothing,” he said adamantly, sincerely, his hands resting on your knees. Looking up to meet his eyes, you found nothing but care and consideration swimming around in the deep brown. “Don’t blame yourself for their failures to step up and appreciate what they had in you.”

It was unspoken, but you both knew you were both referring to not just your ex, but all the other men who left your life as if you were nothing; including your father. Jimin was the first man who made you feel special and worth fighting for. There he was, your best friend who openly wanted to be more, patiently waiting for you to get yourself ready for his love. Who does that?

“Here, let’s find something to watch,” he told you, breaking you out of your thoughts, patting your knees before standing up and grabbing your remote. “Put on a cute cartoon, ok? I’ll be right back.”

You did as he told you, selecting one of the many Disney films that gave you comfort. When Jimin returned within a minute, he placed a glass of water in front of your face.

“Here, drink this,” he nodded to the glass. “You’ll feel better,” he gave you a small smile. Grabbing the glass from him carefully and taking a sip, you quickly squeezed your eyes shut, feeling hot tears prick them once again. “Oh, Dear, don’t cry,” he sighed, sitting down next to you.

Lowering the glass to your lap, you looked toward Jimin just as he reached his hands up to wipe away your tears. “They aren’t worth it.”

“I’m not crying because of them,” you chuckled at yourself. As he looked at you curiously, you exhaled slowly, calming your emotions the best you could. “You’re so nice to me,” you pouted, your bottom lip quivering. “From now on, you’re the only man allowed to make me cry.”

“I don’t want to make you cry, Dear,” he frowned, you smiling.

“These aren’t bad tears though,” you assured him.

“Well good,” he whispered. “But I never want to be the reason for bad tears.”

“I’m not sure that’s realistic,” you told him gently. “We’re human, we’re both gonna fuck up. Just, if you make me cry bad tears, please always make up for it.”

Staring at you in thought, a frown positioned on his face, he sighed. “I promise I will.”
