Dragon's Knight

First Twisted Wonderland Post!!!

Sebek Zigvolt, grandson of Bault, knight (in training) to Prince Malleus Draconia. Sebek is clearly many things but he's also not a lot of things. Things such as; being quiet, patient, and most of all human.

But the dear prefect is in fact, human, which could account for this... slight miscommunication.

Sebek was clingy, the prefect noted, though if you were to even allude to that fact in front of him, he'd loudly deny it. For the last three months, he'd been getting closer and closer. Now, he was close enough to nuzzle his face against The Prefects cheek or neck. He'd nip at the Ramshackle Prefects fingers and speak louder at them.

It was a confusing dance of these odd, yet endearing, behaviors and more neutral actions. He'd braid (as best he could) The Prefects hair, gifted shiny rocks or freshly picked flowers, or even a necklace with an intricately carved Z on the silver charm. With each gift that was given, Sebek seemed to take a metaphorical step closer to the Prefect.

When he'd given them the necklace, he'd watched their reaction so intently, The Prefect worried they might end up struck by lightning. Afterward, Sebek gently nipped at their fingertips, making noises when the action was returned, and then left back to Diasomnia.

"What an adorably strange little fae," The Prefect murmured with a soft smile, holding the charm.

"Today is the day," Sebek told Lilia and Malleus, "I intend to ask The Prefect for their hand in marriage." Malleus nodded along, smiling gently and congratulating his Knight.

While Lilia sat off to the side, a bit worried now. It had been a fun little joke for him when Sebek began showing signs of courtship towards The Prefect because he knew. He knew The Prefect was oblivious to Sebek's actions. However, as time went on and Sebek got more serious in his courtship, Lilia tried telling Sebek that The Prefect is human. They don't know the meaning behind his actions.

But, Sebek refused to believe that. If the human had no clue of the connotations, then why would they reciprocate his snapping or accept his family crest? They had to know, they had to.

"Sebek," Lilia tried, "They're human, and a very young one at that. They may not wish to marry so soon."

Sebek brushed off his mentors' words, "We wouldn't marry immediately, Master Lilia. I intend to fulfill my destiny of becoming Waka-sama's Knight first!" Lilia sighed and gave up, letting Sebek go about his merry way. Possibly about to face heartbreak for the first time.

His journey to Ramshackle was uneventful, it was a rare quiet day on campus. Sebek stopped in front of the rickety door and knocked firmly, "HUMAN, it is Sebek Zigvolt, knight of Lord Malleus!"

The human opened the door with a grin, "Hi, Seb." They had long since stopped trying to get him to drop the formality with them.

Sebek blushed slightly at the nickname, his usually low body temperature rising. "H-Hello, human, I've come to ask you something!"

They raise a brow, "Oh, what could the great knight of Lord Malleus need to ask me?" Their tone was teasing and airy.

Sebek quickly drops onto one knee and holds out a plain silver ring, "Will you, (Y/N) (Y/L/N), marry me, Sebek Zigvolt?'

The Prefect gaped at him, mind blank and eyes wide. They didn't blink, breathe, or move for a long moment. Then, finally, the word, "What," slipped past their lips.

Sebek's slow heart dropped, mind slurring to a stop as he realized that perhaps Master Lilia had been right. "W-Will you marry me?" He asked more urgently, feeling wobbly and panicked.

The poor human snapped out of their stupor and yanks Sebek up from the ground, "Why would you ask me that?! We're not even dating."

Oh. Oh, no. Master Lilia was right, his mate, his precious human had no clue. Sebek felt like crying, screaming, never speaking again, and locking himself away for the rest of eternity. "I- We've been courting you for months," he stuttered.

The Prefects eyes go wide, "What?!"

He swallows thickly, "It would seem Master Lilia was correct when he said you were unaware." It was so odd, Sebek speaking so quietly, it broke the humans heart. "I... apologize for the miscommunication. I will take my leave now."

"Sebek, wait," his hand is grabbed, "Y-you said you've been courting me, right? How exactly?"

He swallows, voice raising in volume at the contact, "I courted you as any proper fae would. I am a Kinght of Lord Malleus, I must hold myself to such standards."

The Prefect nods, "Yes, Sebek but I don't know how the fae court, so I need you to explain it to me."

His cheeks go red, "I gave you flowers I picked myself, beautiful rocks from the river that I collected, I nipped and nuzzled you, and I gifted you my family crest."

"Your family crest?" The Prefect wondered aloud before realizing. Their hand lifted to the small charm around their neck, "Oh."

Sebek nodded vehemently, "Yes, my family crest!" He seemed proud of himself, proud that they still wore it even though they hadn't any clue what it was.

With warm cheeks, the human grabbed both his hands and leaned in, kissing his cheek. "I'm not ready to get married but... I accept your feelings."

In return, he let out a chirring noise, nuzzling and nipping the human's jaw. His arms wrapped around their waist as his face pressed into their neck. "I can accept that," he murmured, "As long as you wish to be my mate, I will never stop reminding you of my love."

The Prefect smiles, hand pushing into his hair and nipping the top of his ear, "I love you too, Seb."

Sebek might be a bit ooc but I tried.
