The Empire needs a vacation (TOTE spoilers)
Well I did not have double inquisitor redemption on my May 4th bingo card this year but here we are. Barriss Offee is such a Jedi she can't even turn to the dark side with any real efficiency despite her little reign of terror in TCW season 6.
The inquisitors were overdramatic and angsty just as I thought they would be. They are so uptight, I feel like they just need a little break? Did Vader even build them a break room?
I am still not over the bad batch ending but overall I thought Tales of the Empire was good, and it definitely took me by surprise at the end with Barriss and Lyn. I enjoyed episodes 4-6 more than 1-3 but I still liked seeing Thrawn. I know they could have done a lot more with his relationship with Morgan but what little we did see gave a better idea of why he trusted her in the Ahsoka series.
I also liked that we got to see Fortress Inquisitorius in its early days before Cal and Obi Wan flooded Vader's basement, the world building there was great.
Yes it was rushed and not as detailed as it could have been but overall I think it was a solid Star Wars day release. I do prefer Tales of the Jedi but I'm happy with what we got it definitely gives a different look at Barriss compared to what we saw in TCW. Maybe in the future we find out who her friend is? Could that be an opening to see Ahsoka again?
Beware the Ides of March (and history majors)
Yesterday was of course an infamous day in history, and the best way to celebrate is to walk into your 9 am classical history lecture dressed as a roman senator. When the opportunity presents itself I guess you just have to go for it? (much to my professor's bewilderment)
Anyway, happy late anniversary to the day that Caesar decided to completely ignore valuable advice that would return to stab him in the back.
We’re in the endgame now.

The ancients were overdramatic and I can see why
The eclipse is passing over my part of the country right now and we just saw totality which was so incredible and so strange that it makes me realize just how much the ancient civilizations must have lost their gourds when this happened. I've seen partial eclipses before but watching one at totality helps me understand just how
f r e a k e d
those people must have been and makes their apocalyptic symbolism seem a lot more justified. Anyway glad we have modern astronomy to reassure us that the world isn't ending heres a really cute really crappy photo from the dumpster fire that is my iphone camera (you can kinda see a little solar flare at the bottom maybe?). Happy Eclipse :)

DEE PLS, LET ME HAVE ONE MOMENT WHERE I’M NOT CRYING
