midday coffee
on a run
ask if anybody wants some
what's your order, you may ask
I recite back their favourites with a laugh
oat milk latte for one
almond cappuccino, vanilla shot
long iced black, dark as night
a thank you, to my delight
but when is it asked in return
does anyone know what I default to?
does anyone know I take my coffee sweet
one sugar, or shot of hazelnut
strong espresso, chocolate top?
getting gifts is not so easy
but I remember what they like
this one likes purple, no fruit and nut
this one likes mint, and fancy shots
that one likes joke gifts with a bit of heart
that one likes books that are slightly dark
seeing things and think of them
trying my best to make them smile
or help them out on daunting dates
checking in, what can I do?
to make this hard thing easier
and help you get through?
do I really make it that hard
to receive kindness in return
is what surrounds me that difficult
to bypass to get the love I yearn?
am I really that high maintenance
or maybe just so worthless that they
put me last on their lists
an afterthought for the ages
because I make myself so small

A quick ramble/rant.
On the news that AO3 is now being scraped for AI content, I really, really don't want to lock my fics behind a "members only" wall, especially given how small the main fandom I write for (Megaman ZX) is.
However:
One: I am seriously considering it, because I don't want my stuff to be scraped. Which SUCKS because maybe like me when I was younger, some fans may not be allowed to make accounts on websites for whatever reason. I'd like anything I write to be accessible but not at this cost!
Two: If for whatever reason I decide not to finish my fics, I'll happily answer questions about how it was going to end AND post any unreleased content I had stored up. Please, do NOT put my stuff into ChatGPT for whatever reason.
Seriously, I've poured hours into these stories I could've been using to write my original stuff because I WANTED to, and I'd get pretty upset if someone shoved all of that into some predictive text generator.
Just ask me stuff! I'm happy to ramble about it.

Was scrolling through you’re blog and noticed for one post you had really neat designs for Ashe and Grey for a later chapter of your ZXA retelling, but that made me wonder: Do you have a written outline for the fic or is it just a bunch of ideas and you’re figuring out the rest? I ask cause when I write chapter fics I have to write an outline doc of what happens in every chapter, almost like a plot summary, just to keep track of my ideas in a cohesive order. But I wasn’t sure how other fanfic writers handle approaching things and well you got the advantage of also following the game so I thought I’d ask ahah.
Hey hey! First off, thanks for the ask, I hope you're enjoying the fic and the art for it!!
Secondly, I'm approaching the fic slightly differently to how I normally plan my writing. Since I know how the plot of Advent goes as per the game, I'm treating the original script as my "outline," and writing notes for what I really want to include or change from the game, and justifications for a level sometimes. These notes don't always stay the same though! For instance, a note I had written for an early chapter:
You can see I'd planned to have Grey stop Buckfire monologuing pretty early on, and shoot Rospark too. But the why of how it happened changed (ie, original plan as above to catch them off guard, vs Ashe telling him to because the Pseudoroid freaked her out).
Normally, when I write, I have a rough outline of events in chronological order and write the chapters based on that. I did try the "chapter by chapter" approach for my biggest original work, but unfortunately it went off the rails and I had to throw all the planning out the window! So I haven't really tried it again lol.
I also tend to have separate documents for lore and character notes as well, which goes for all of my work.
In the case of FTGFTF, I've got a massive document that details quirks and backstory notes for the characters - for instance, since we were only given hints of the Big Four's backstories in game, I wrote down a summary of what I think they were, and this colours the way I write them in the fic. That's definitely been a lot of fun to explore!

The twins?
Yeah, they arrived here and settled in a while ago - they keep to themselves and stay out of trouble for the most part. Can't fault some young people for finding work and making something of themselves.
The lovely lady - y'see, that's Pandora. She's a nurse, creating them tonics and pastes for wounds like a witch making her brews. Heard from her patients that her work is good and she's mighty polite, but she hardly ever talks. A bit eerie if ya ask me.
The gentleman next to her? Her twin brother, Prometheus. He's much louder and much bolder than you'd think for a guy workin' with the dead - funeral parlour, morgue, if you need it embalmed he can help you out. I don't want to know where he learnt how to do that but our funeral director is mighty appreciative!
Still, sometimes I catch em looking sad, like they've lost something or are running away. Wonder why they came here in the first place...?

Presenting Pandora and Prometheus in the Old West AU (affectionately calling them Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumbass)!
They seem to everyone to just be twins who have settled in the town and are integrating nicely - but it's these two. Of course there's some other nonsense going on that they get suckered into. For now, they're just doofuses trying to live their best lives somewhere new!

Pandora has terrible, horrible face blindness, so Prometheus wears the bright red eyeliner for her to ID him faster. Her eyes are also kinda crap.
Both of them have naturally silver hair like Grey's and dyed it - you can see it growing out.
Prometheus gets a little stubble. As a treat.

She is the Bounty Hunter, renowned far and wide for her loud mouth, bringing in wanted felons, and unquenchable thirst for adventure and treasure.
However, there have been disturbing rumours that her latest quarry has powers beyond her imagining - and not to be outdone, even more disturbing rumours that she too, is dabbling to even the playing field...
AKA, character concept for Ashe as a bounty hunter in a fantasy old West AU of ZX/A that @dumpsterfirepropaganda, @tyrantchimera and I have been working on here and there :)
So of COURSE, Ashe had to get a really cool, very detailed fit. She does have a hat, and I'll add it next time!
Bonus points if you figure out where I got the inspiration for her pants from.

Giro as Lucifer, the well-meaning but struggling father figure? And he's blonde?
Omega as Alastor, the mysterious, murderous mischief-maker who has ended up as a father figure? Plus the colour scheme?
the paper could not handle all the red on Omega dear gods...
Anyways this may be the goofiest thing I've ever drawn but damn if it doesn't make me smile. Honestly love the idea of these two (Giro and Omega) as ridiculous co-parents to Vent and Aile.

Wanted to try a version of Alastor from Hazbin Hotel made as if I'd designed it, but like a true demon/abomination version?? ...Thankfully I do not have to try animating this jerk, so I took a few fun liberties. You know. Uh. Just a FEW...
(Fandom wants him to have a deer tail. His voice actor thought he'd have a devil tail. So I gave him two deer tails as coat-tails as well as the devil tail! Whee!!) Can you believe I did this whole thing just because of how his radio tower gets renovated in episode 8? There's the concept sketches too, whee. No one cares about pure sketches though, so I had some fun and coloured one of 'em. Let's see if anyone sees this XD
