A lot of decanon but hey alternative universe communication. Danny and Ben became sort of frenemies on twitter (that connects to other universes) and one of their rivalry is about how cute their kids are. But their thread concerns a lot of people, adults mostly from other universes that don't know their story TM
Danny: I have two kids which are made from my parents' friend/villain/godfather's DNA who frequently fights and kidnap me in an effort to make me his family
Ben: lol i get pregnant and give birth to 14 cute chubby alien bug babies. Beat that
DC universe: ARE YOU TWO SAFE?

TFW you find out your son is a teen mom of 14 alien babies
Season 3 ending
So... It's been almost a week since the last episode, almost a week trying to wrap my head around the end of the show, trying to manage my feelings about it all.
It's hard to end up feeling the complete opposite of nearly everyone on my dash but I've come to terms with the fact that I didn't love the ending. I didn't love this last episode. (I shouldn't feel ashamed or weird for saying so but you guys loved it so much that I feel a bit like an outsider right now 😓)
I haven't been a fan of the show for as long as most of you, but it means so much to me. These characters carved a place in my heart and in my head, and they've made me happy for months now. They helped me get through some stuff, made me discover some amazing artists, meet even more amazing people through this fandom. And I loved the story. Even in its darkest, saddest parts, I loved it. I was invested.
I love Wilhelm and Simon, together and separately. They mean so much to me. And I loved season 1 and 2. It made me happy, and sad, and frustrated, and exalted. But overall, I trusted the show and I was not disappointed.
Season 3 was a lot. I liked the first 5 episodes. I can't say that I loved everything about them: I was not expecting things to get so hard for Simon, with no reprieve in sight. I was not worried about Wilmon being endgame (I know it was a big stress for the fandom but honestly I never doubted that they were endgame), but I was wondering how the show would go about tying all the knots it made (I should even say all the knots it added during this last season).
(Under a read more because it's a bit long and I don't want to bother those who don't wanna read more of my frustrated thoughts ^^')
And unfortunately the last episode was a huge let down for me. Yes, it's partly because nothing I was hoping for actually happened, but mostly, it's because the choices they made did not feel very satisfying to me: ⁕ Simon was barely there. We went from him being bullied online/offline non stop for 5 episodes to almost nothing. It makes 0 sense to me. ⁕ Kristina suddenly feeling better: she was having break down upon break down for an entire season, could barely look at her son or even just talk normally and all of a sudden she's back, smiling and agreeing to everything Wilhelm says? I'm sorry but I don't buy it? Where did this Kristina hid during the entire show? ⁕ Wilhelm deciding to not be king, talking for 3min to his parents about it, them agreeing and him running into the sunset with Simon. I'm sorry, what?? I love that they end up together of course, but it makes very little sense to me? It won't change any of the issues they had this season? They're still gonna be famous? And bullied online/offline? (Probably even more so now?). I'm not obviously saying that Wilhelm staying in line to become king was the only or the best solution, but I wanted more from this storyline. I wanted to believe it. And right now, what we got? It feels a bit cheap (and I feel bad for saying that because the ending was cute and romantic and all, but it felt too disconnected from the rest of the show for me ><)
And apart from these few points, the big issue I had with this episode was: The Angst. So that might be a me-problem, but it was too much for my poor little heart (I haven't rewatched the episode yet, and I'm not sure I'll be able to anytime soon ><). I spent like 40min of the episode with a huge knot in the stomach because the heartbreak between Simon and Wilhelm was too much to handle for me. I can see how it was beautifully made, that having lots of throwbacks to the previous seasons, the Wille song, all of that was great cinematography. But it was just too much for me. I got in the season spoiler-free but for this episode? During the lake scene I had to take a break and check online if they were actually endgame because it was starting to actually give me a stomachache. So yeah, this part might be me being too sensitive but I did not like that they made me see them fight for each other for 2 seasons and 5 episodes, but then just giving up for 40min before finally running back to each other during the last 10min. It was just too much sadness for me ><
So yeah, maybe my expectations were too high? But I feel sad, and kinda cheated. Too many things are left wide opened. Too many things make zero sense to me. And of course I'm happy we got our Wilmon endgame, but I'm less happy about how it happened.
It's a bit hard being on Tumblr right now and seeing everyone who thought it was the perfect episode >< And I don't want to "yuck anyone's yum" (as the saying goes), but I still wanna be able to share my thoughts! I probably won't write super angry/unhappy/complaining posts about the season/the finale, but I still wanna be able to chat about it. I did see some posts on my dash from people not being entirely satisfied with this ending so it's a bit comforting. And I hope we can share some nice headcanons, or just discussions about different plot points.
But yeah, I guess that's why I haven't really been active this week! Trying to get over the double heartbreak of the end of the show + being disappointed with the ending! I'm gonna come back though! I miss hanging out here, I just need to strengthen my heart a little bit more :p Gonna get back to writing about my thoughts episode by episode for this season (I can't promise I can rewatch the last one though 😖 It might take me a bit of time to get there). And I want to continue my song analysis of the show!! I'm not even done with season 2 yet, I have some work to do there ^^
So see you back here very soon 😘

aaaaaaAAAAA KEEP RAMBLING I LOVE HEARING YOUR THOUGHTS 😭 At the end of their expedition (and after a lot of pining), Kaveh must unfortunately return to the desert, as that's his home and what he knows.
Alhaitham continues to dream, even when he gets home: Kaveh living in the city, living with *him*. The two of them exploring the rainforests and city, drinking together in a tavern, Kaveh going into eremite traditions and eventually the people who he views as family. The two of them bickering over something mundane, them kissing and tumbling into bed. And each time the dream ends, it leaves Alhaitham aching and more determined to bring Kaveh into the city if he desires it
and thats what kaveh wants; not wanting to let go of haitham now that he found him in the vast desert. he will arrange his life to still visit the desert (if its longer trips haitham accompanies him bc the acting grand sage is like a big needy clingy cat), focusing on improving ppls living conditions and continue to teach reading, writing and basic math, while also living with the person he came to love
the eremites had taken him in and raised him but as an adult he roamed the desert all by himself for years, offering his help to anyone who needed it, to give back the goodness that had been given to him and regularly returning to the camp for longer periods. it was a lonely life so ofc after meeting haitham and falling in love for the first time he didnt want to let go of him--
--thats what the separation made him realize when haitham had to return to his duties. desert or rainforest, it doesnt matter. he never had a true home ever since that day he lost it. he found it in haithams heart and mind
(haitham was so ready to simply live in the desert if he had to, he would have found a way to arrange his life so he can keep kaveh in it)
the day he moves in for good with haitham, the acting grand sage gifts him a new sketchbook. it cant replace the one his mother gave him (which is already filled until the last page) but its a new one to fill with new memories of their life together now
(when aether asks later what kaveh is doing in sumeru city, kaveh will explain that haitham would have lived in the desert with him if he so wanted as long as he was with him, but "that man cant survive there the way i can, he keeps complaining about sand getting everywhere and he cant even hold out long in the heat before he simply drops like a rock. i want him forever, not for a week before he dies from overheating")
Akane + Kana = Blue (Shadow) + Red (Light)

Here come 2 great girls and 2 great characters! Akane Kurokawa and Kana Arima are Aqua's 2 love interests, but more than that they are key for the story and themes of Oshi No Ko.
SHADOW AND LIGHT
Akane and Kana are linked to 2 opposite ideas:

Akane is a person who accepts others' shadows
Kana is a person who gives others hope and light
Akane is the most perceptive character in the manga. She is incredibly sensitive to the people around her and able to guess their secrets from little details. For example, she infers Ai's personal life by looking at some records. Not only that, but people feel they can trust Akane and share with her intimate information. This is true for both Aqua and Ruby:

Both siblings tell Akane a part of their previous selves' story. Akane doesn't ask for it, but listens to them. She is so accepting, she is even ready to compromise her morality for others:

She looks straight at people's darkness and doesn't flinch. She welcomes the shadow.
Kana is strongly associated with light:

The acting who makes her famous as a child is her ability to shine on the stage. Not only that, but she chooses white as her idol color and sings about becoming a full moon. She brings light into the night and helps others shine. So, she fittingly becomes a beacon of hope for both twins:

Aqua is drawn to Kana's cheerful and strong personality and wants to see more of it. Ruby wants to help Kana, even when she is going through her DarkRuby phase. For a moment, her friendship with Kana brings back Ruby's inner light.
So, Akane is so empathic she accepts people's flaws, while Kana is so cheerful she brings joy to people. Still, their juxtaposition doesn't stop at what they represent for others.
BLUE AND RED
Akane and Kana have opposite color schemes. Akane is blue and Kana is red. Blue and red are complementary colors and they are generally associated with different ideas:
blue is mind, shyness and introversion
red is heart, impulsiveness and extroversion
These personality traits fit Akane and Kana and their acting methods:

Akane studies alone and immers herself into the script. She looks inside:

Her acting is understanding the characters.
Kana reacts to the people around her and matches their performance. She looks outside:

Her acting is interpersonal relationships.
Akane is introspective and focuses on the characters (blue). Kana instead is reactive and focuses on the actors (red). That said, the 2 actresses' color juxtaposition hides an additional meaning:

Ai is purple, which is the combination of blue and red. Similarly, Akane and Kana (just like the twins) are 2 sides of Ai. Still, who is Ai?
I have never been loved by anyone Nor have I loved anyone else
Ai is a person who has never loved nor has ever been loved.
TO LOVE AND TO BE LOVED
To love and to be loved are the 2 sides of Ai (love). Akane and Kana too explore these 2 concepts.
Akane is surrounded by people who love her. Her parents genuinelly want her to be happy and they support her career and relationships. The same goes for her manager. Still, when Akane gets cyber-bullied, she struggles to call for help. Not only that, but later on she states she is not sure she loves Aqua:

In short, Akane has trouble understanding relationships and approaches them in the most complicated way possible. She admires Kana and wants for her to shine again. Instead of conveying her feelings properly, though, she starts a rivalry. She wishes to help Aqua and to build a relationship with him. Still, she both lies and silently accepts Aqua's lies.
Kana is instead very upfront with her feelings, but she ignores people's darkest sides, which makes her easy to manipulate. After all, Kana often gives in to others' requests, even if it is not what she wants. This tendency stems from trauma:

As a small child, Kana is abandoned by the adults around her because she stops being an asset. Both her mother and manager ditch her and nobody gives her work anymore. As a result, Kana becomes a push-over in the hope of being accepted.
So, both Akane and Kana have self-issues which prevent them from developing healthy relationships. Akane doesn't know how to love, while Kana fears to be unloved. These 2 complexes make so that Ai gets sometimes reborn in the 2 girls:

Akane is actress Ai, the genius performer, who lies to both others and herself
Kana is idol Ai, the girl, who shines brightly in her genuine search for love
Akane and Kana's similarity with Ai is why Aqua feels drawn to both in different ways. He projects his mother on his 2 love interests. However, Akane and Kana are not Ai, but their own people. So, their arcs break this dychotomy between them and show that they are 2 girls growing up. Not only that, but they are deep down very alike.
AKANE = BLUE + RED
Akane is associated with blue (blue hair and eyes), but her name means red. Why is there this contradiction? A possible answer is that Akane is strongly disconnected from herself. Or to better say, Akane has no idea of who she is. This is precisely why she struggles so much throughout her introductory arc.
True Love is a reality show, where the participants have to play themselves and flirt with others. For example, Yuki uses her true feelings as an inspiration for her performance. However, Akane can't do the same because she is confused by romance and lacks a personality of her own. This is why she is a genius actress. She forgets herself and becomes someone else. It is Akane's modus operandi and she eventually uses it also in True Love. And who does she become?

She plays Aqua's ideal girl. Not only that, but she keeps on this role throughout time, as she becomes more involved in Aqua's revenge plot:

Akane knows Aqua is not in love with her. Still, she decides it is fine to be used, as long as she is aware of it. Later on, she realizes Aqua has feelings for Kana, but accepts them in exchange of his honesty. Akane believes that with time her bond with Aqua will become the real thing. However, she is wrong, as a lie stays a lie:

In the end, neither Aqua nor Akane are honest with each other. Aqua violates Akane's privacy and Akane keeps silent about Aqua's father. She decides to solve things by herself, just like she did with the cyber-bullying. Akane is full of people who love her, but she refuses to depend on them. She tries to deal with everything alone and puts her life in danger:

She is very much like Aqua in this, which is why the moment they come clear they break-up. Akane and Aqua genuinely care for each other. However, they can't have a proper relationship because they choose to lie and to self-sacrifice.
Akane gives up her whole sense of self to properly play the part of Ai. Still, she isn't Ai and her break-up with Aqua is the perfect chance to realize it. Right now, she is determined to save Aqua by herself. She still believes she can be Aqua's perfect girl, one way or another. However, she is wrong. She can't and shouldn't save Aqua alone. She should open up to others and ask for help. In this way, she can finally break character and show her genuine self. She can embrace her inner red.
KANA = LIGHT + SHADOW
Kana is linked to light, but she is currently stuck in shadows both in her career and in her personal relationships. This is made clear since her introductory arc.
Sweet Today is a low budget production whose real goal isn't to tell a good story, but rather to advertise models. Kana is chosen because of her good personality and fame. She sees this as an opportunity and a sign of appreciation. However, the producer's words reveal she is being taken advantage of. Nobody cares about her second chance in the enterteinment world, but they only use her because she is convenient. Not only that, but Kana is forced to match the other cast members' level of acting. The result is that she hides her real self.
Luckily, Aqua is there for Kana and eventually she is able to shine a little:

This is a recurring dynamic between Kana and Aqua. Kana tries to hide her real talent for the sake of harmony on the stage. However, Aqua takes care of things, so that Kana can shine:

In short, Aqua is a healing presence in Kana's life. She feels invisible and unwanted to the point she is ready to do anything for some care and appreciation. However, Aqua gives her selfless support:

Still, Kana herself is unaware of Aqua's shadows:

She has known him for a long time, but knows nothing of his revenge plan, his past as Gorou and his manipulative streak. It is telling that when Aqua masks as Piyo Kana is unable to see through the mask. She can't because she doesn't know who the real Aqua is.
Here it comes a contradiction in Kana's arc. Among all the characters, she is the one mostly linked to truth:

She is so honest she makes her feelings for Aqua clear five minutes after meeting him. She even ends up confessing her crush on a stranger out of loyalty towards Aqua and her own emotions. Not to mention that it is to protect her that Aqua reveals the truth about Ai. And yet, she is kept in the dark of others' machinations. She is oblivious to her friends' struggles and seems not to notice their strange behaviours.
So, her arc should really be about overcoming this flaw. If Kana wants to shine, she needs to experience shadows. If she wants to have healthy bonds with others, she needs to discover and accept their darkness. She is slowly going through this process.
As a child, she shines, but is self-centered. When she grows up, she painfully realizes she has to value others more and becomes much more selfless. However, at the beginning of the series, she is being consumed by this approach and is helped by others to re-discover her selfish self a little bit more. She realizes she is beautiful when she steals everyone's attention and that her brutal honesty can help people grow.
Right now, she needs to reconcile her caring personality with her personal need to shine. Her trust in people with the knowledge even her loved ones can make mistakes. In short, she must find a way to shine, while helping others to shine too:

She doesn't have to sacrifice herself to be accepted, but at the same time Kana herself is at her happiest when all the actors play together to the utmost of their abilities. She must be the sun who selflessly makes others shine.
AKANE AND KANA'S ENDINGS
So, what will be the conclusion of Akane and Kana's stories? So far, it is too soon to say, but some hypothesis can be made.
First thing first, let's address the elephant in the room. I think Akane, Kana and Aqua's love triangle will resolve in Kana's favor. Imo the story has been very clear about it.
Aqua's reaction to Akane and Kana is opposite:
He involves himself with Akane to pursue his revenge and he is drawn to her because she resembles Ai
He stays away from Kana because of his revenge and his fear Kana is gonna end up targeted like Ai
In short, Aqua projects on both girls with different results. He projects on Akane his wishes and on Kana his fears. So, it makes sense that by the end he lets go of Ai's ideal (he says goodbye to Akane) and overcomes his fears (he acts on his feelings for Kana).
Of course, recently, there has been a shift in this dynamic. Aqua has in fact broken his bond with Akane to protect her, while he has started a manipulative relationship with Kana. Still, this inversion is due to the story entering its climax. It is in fact necessary to challenge all the characters.
Structurally, Akane and Kana do not have the same focus. Akane's storyline serves Aqua and Kana beautifully. She supports their arcs, while developing herself. Kana instead is the tritragonist of the manga. A lot of focus is given to her feelings and career each arc. Moreover, these plotlines have nothing to do with the main conflict, which means Kana is basically having her own story. Still, obviously Kana's story and the main plot are meant to become one in the climax. So, she is meant to have a big role in Aqua's arc.
Finally, a conclusion where Aqua and Kana are together fits both girls' individual arcs.
Akane should stop imitating others and discover who she is. For her to succeed she should go back to what she originally desired:

Akane's true desire is a genuine connection. She starts acting not because she thinks it is cool, but because she wants to become friends with Kana. However, Akane's strategy to grow closer to others is to change herself and become an ideal:

She wants to win Kana's friendship by becoming like her. And yet, this backfires as Kana is already struggling with people discarding her to favor other children. Surely, a girl who imitates her is not the kind of friend Kana wants by that point. Interestingly, Akane is mature enough to figure this out and doesn't really resent Kana for it. To the contrary, she deep down wants Kana to go back to shine, but her attempts to inspire Kana do not work. So, what can Akane do to grow close to Kana and help her shine?
Maybe Akane simply has to tell Kana the truth about Aqua. She could let go of her stubborness and open up to another person. After all, the only way to forge bonds is to show who you are and hope the other will accept you.
Such a resolution on Akane's part would help Kana. Kana's problem is that she ignores everyone's shadows. She can't hope to help her loved ones if she has no idea of who they are. Kana's test will be to accept Aqua's darkest part and to keep on loving him.
She will 100% succeed. Kana is great at pursuing what she loves, even when it's not perfect. She is the character who has been a part of the enterteinment world the longest. She has been broken and let down many times. However, she still loves acting and the people she meets in her job. She may not be a genius anymore, but she is a strong, dependable and flexible actress. She likes the enterteinment world despite its flaws and will keep on loving the twins and Akane.
This is why Kana is the brightest star:

She has more passion and attachment to life than everyone else.

Nene cleaned the table as Gaku stood beside her. 'What are you still doing here?' she asked, not even bothering to look up.
Gaku jumped. 'You don't want my help?' he asked meekly.
'Not really, no,' Nene said simply. She finished cleaning the table and went to another one.
Gaku followed. 'Are you sure? I can stay longer to help.'
'Gaku-san, it's ok. I'll clean up.' And Nene knew that Gaku had relaxed.
'Thank you,' Gaku beamed.
Nene shook her head fondly. 'Have fun, Gaku-san.' She kept cleaning.
'I will!' Gaku said eagerly. He crossed the room quickly then went up the stairs. He had to get ready for his date. He picked out an outfit, getting out a jacket from their shared closet. It was a size bigger. He took a bath then brushed his hair. There was the cologne then the black button up. It was an all-black outfit and he hoped Kai would like it. He combed his hair in a side part then he put his face mask in the jacket's inner pocket. He came out of the room.
He went downstairs and put on his shoes. These too were the nicer ones. 'See you tomorrow, Nene-san,' he called over his shoulder.
'See you tomorrow,' Nene called out.
Gaku closed the door behind him. He started walking to the driveway. The sun was starting to set above him. He had closed Kitada and Kitada early for tonight. He didn't have to wait long. A black car stopped in front of him. 'Good evening, Magoroku-san,' he greeted softly.
'Evening, Gaku,' Magoroku greeted.
Gaku slid into the backseat seat. 'Is Kai-san alright?' he asked quickly.
'He's fine, Hotei is always with him.'
Gaku nodded slowly. He always worried when Kai-san would go on his trips. His experience taught him to worry. He locked the backseat door under Magoroku's watchful eye. The car started a second after. Locking the door wasn't experience, it was something that Kai-san had taught him and insisted on. 'Is he going on another trip?'
Magoroku turned the car. 'I don't know. Only Asakura-san and Hotei know that.' Gaku frowned in worry. 'But he could stay for now,' Magoroku said gently.
Gaku smiled. It was a small one. 'Thank you for driving me.'
'I already told you, you don't have to thank me. It's my job to look after you.' That's right, Magoroku-san would guard him. Just like Nene-san. Gaku looked out of the window as Magoroku drove in silence.
Gaku felt nervous and giddy. In what state would Kai-san greet him? And to see him after he didn't return home for a week and a half…. It made Gaku emotional. However many minutes later, his phone buzzed. Gaku jumped. He took it out.
There was a new message. Gaku smiled. It read where are you? Who are you with? Gaku answered back, on the way, with magoroku-san. Another message came a second later, be safe. Gaku put his phone back into his pocket. He shouldn't relax yet, should still be anxious but that made him feel better. It was a relief to read that.
Minutes and minutes later, the car slowed. Gaku saw Kai up ahead. He leaned forward. The car stopped in front of Kai. Gaku didn't have to wait long because the backseat door opened as soon as it stopped. Kai sat down next to him. Magoroku closed the window separating the driver and the backseat. He knew to leave them alone.
'Kai-san!' Gaku held onto his forearms. He checked him over.
Kai laid his hand on Gaku's cheek. Gaku looked up at him, hand coming up to curl around Kai's wrist. 'I'm fine,' Kai said softly. He tilted Gaku's head up. Gaku went, eyes on Kai's face. Kai looked him over. His expression was of relief.
Gaku laid his other hand on Kai's chest. He leaned closer. Kai met him halfway. They kissed, Kai sighing into it. His hands fell. He wrapped his arms around Gaku, his hands on Gaku's back. The kiss broke. I'm home,' Kai whispered.
'Welcome back,' Gaku answered softly. Kai laid his head on Gaku's shoulder. His eyes closed. He took everything in. Gaku was solid and warm in his arms and Kai could smell his soft cologne. He had missed him. He had missed him horribly. They sat in silence for a moment.
Then Kai lifted his head. 'Are you ready?' he asked.
Gaku smiled. 'I am!' he said eagerly. Kai smiled, small and hopelessly smitten. Gaku put on his face mask on. Kai opened the door and got out. He held out his hand. Gaku took it with a smile. He looked ahead. Oh. He knew this place, Kai-san had taken him here out on a date three times already. It was a fancy place, more than he could afford then and now. They walked inside.
Kai didn't have to ask for a table. Because they always had a reservation. The table was in a corner, quiet and far enough away. They sat down. Gaku stared at Kai, taking him in. He didn't look sick, no scratch to be seen. Kai looked back. Under the warm lights, he could look at Gaku properly. 'Is that one of my mine?' he asked, eyes glittering. Gaku blinked. He heard the question. He nodded, smiling. Kai smirked.
Kai handed him the menu and Gaku took it. It didn't take him long to read through it. 'Do you have another trip?' he asked.
'I might, I might not. But if I don't, I might stay for a while,' Kai answered. Gaku's shoulders relaxed. 'I've heard something from Nene though.'
Gaku frowned. Did something happen. 'Nothing happened,' he said slowly, 'the café's doing well.'
'That's not the problem. I know it's doing well. But that's that what I'm worried about. Nene says you're working too hard.'
'It's weird to hear that from you,' Gaku mused.
'I know but still… You shouldn't work too hard,' Kai said softly.
'It's because I want the café to do well,' Gaku admitted.
Kai's expression softened further. 'I know but I don't want you to hurt yourself.' Gaku reached out from across the table. Kai took his hand, giving it a squeeze. 'Take care of yourself.'
'I'll try,' Gaku promised.
'I'll hold you to that,' Kai declared. Gaku smiled. 'We ordering?' Kai asked.
Gaku nodded. 'I know what I want.' Kai turned around and raised a hand. The waitress saw him. But someone else did too.
'Hey!' a voice called out, 'what's this?' Gaku saw Kai tense. Two men came over, in suits as nice as Kai's. 'Asakura! Haven't seen you in a while and it's here, just my luck, huh?' Gaku put his hands under the table, covering the ring with his other hand.
'I don't care what you want, leave,' Kai said coldly.
'Aww, don't be like that! Haven't seen you in a while, we can catch up!' One of the men leaned against the table. He looked at Gaku.
'I said leave,' Kai repeated.
The man ignored him. 'Who's this? Finally got have another one after two years?' The man behind him grimaced, at least he knew this was a mistake. He grabbed his companion's arm. The man shrugged it off. His eyes turned considering. 'You don't look half bad, ' he reached for Gaku, Gaku flinched, 'why don't you take that off so we can have a look at you?'
His hand stilled in mid-air. Kai tightened his grip on the man's arm. He slowly rose out of his seat. He was radiating fury. Gaku's stomach clenched. He knew what was going to happen to the man. Kai-san and everyone around him has this well of cruelty and violence. Even Nene-san. But he knew that already, had said yes years ago despite that.
Magoroku appeared beside him. 'Let's go,' he said quietly. Gaku stood up.
'Hey, where are you going?' the man drawled. He stepped forward.
Hotei blocked his way. 'Back off,' Hotei said coldly. Magoroku led Gaku out of the restaurant and back to the car, opening the backseat door.
'Will they be ok?' Gaku asked quickly.
'They'll be fine,' Magoroku answered, 'they can handle themselves pretty well.'
Gaku slumped into the seat with a sigh. Even if he knew how dangerous Kai was, he was still more worried about him. What did that say about him? He waited anxiously. However many minutes later, the backseat door open. 'Are you ok? Are you hurt?' he asked breathless.
'Gaku,' Kai said, he looked into Gaku's eyes, 'I'm ok,' he said softly. Gaku nodded jerkily and Kai pulled him close. He wrapped his arms around Gakui. 'I'm ok.' Gaku slumped against him. 'Drive us home,' Kai ordered, not even turning to Magoroku.
'Yes, sir,' Magoroku answered. The car came to life a moment later. It started moving.
'I'm sorry, I shouldn't have brought you there.' Kai's fingers shook as he smoothed down the back of Gaku's jacket. 'I won't happen again,' he said softly.
Gaku thought about it for a moment. 'No,' he said. He leaned back, looking up at Kai. 'It's not your fault,' he laid his hand on Kai's arm, 'I like that place and I don't want to stop going there because of this.'
Kai's gaze was intent. 'Ok,' he murmured, he kissed Gaku, 'ok.' He said it against Gaku's lips. He leaned forward, pinning Gaku against the seat.
'Magoroku-san and Hotei-san are here,' Gaku mumbled.
Kai smiled. 'Later,' he promised. He held Gaku on the ride home, Gaku tucking himself to his side. 'I'll cook for tonight,' Kai promised.
'I missed your cooking,' Gaku said softly.
Kai nuzzled his cheek. 'And after?' he said playfully.
'Anything you want.' Gaku answered simply. Because it was true. Kai could have anything he wanted, Gaku would give it to him, he'd already given himself after all.
Kai's smile widened. 'Then,' his dark eyes glittered, 'why don't I take my jacket off of you?' he whispered. Gaku blushed. He nodded. Kai's smile was pleased. The car stopped.
They got out. 'Be safe, Magoroku-san, Hotei-san' Gaku called out. Kai took his hand.
'I will,' Magoroku answered. Hotei nodded in agreement. Gaku waved as the car drove off. They turned to the café and started walking towards it.
When they went through the door, Kai pulled him closer. Gaku laughed, the edges of his eyes crinkling. He took off his face mask. Kai wrapped his arms around Gaku and leaned in. Gaku wrapped his arms around Kai's neck and met him halfway. They kissed. The kiss broke. 'I missed you,' Kai said. He kissed Gaku again. They kissed slow and sweet, the moment stretching on. The moment was too short when they parted.
'You're here now,' Gaku said. Kai looked at him for a moment before kissing his cheek. They untangled themselves and Kai made his way to the kitchen. Gaku watched him with a smile.
-----
Kai opened his eyes. He turned to the door. Gaku made a sound. Kai smiled and kissed the top of his head. He turned to the door again, he was waiting. And he didn't have to wait long. He heard footsteps coming towards it.
Kai tensed, even if he was hoping it was who he thought it was, he still had to prepared when it wasn't.
'Kai-sama,' it was Hotei's voice, 'we have him.'
Kai smiled and this was vicious. 'Thanks, you can go.' The footsteps retreated and Kai turned to Gaku.
He wrapped his arms around him and pulled him even closer. ''re 'pose t' be 'eepin',' Gaku mumbled.
Kai grinned. 'I will,' he murmured. He kissed Gaku's shoulder. His mind flashed to the hand reaching for Gaku and Gaku's flinch. He'll deal with the man later, he had time and he'd take his time. He was looking forward to it. He closed his eyes.
Gaku opened his eyes. There were bells ringing in his ears. He turned to it. It was his alarm. A hand came to rest on his wrist. 'Go to sleep,' Kai ordered.
''e 'fé,' Gaku protested.
'I'll take care of it,' Kai declared, he kissed Gaku's cheek. He leaned back and looked into Gaku's eyes. 'Go to sleep,' Kai repeated.
Gaku frowned. ''k,' he mumbled. Kai smiled. Gaku lied back down.
'I'll bring you food,' Kai promised.
And as he promised, there was food on their bedside table when Gaku woke up. He ate with a smile, he missed Kai's cooking. He took a bath and got ready. When he went downstairs, there was Kai. He was in the kitchen, hair carefully tucked under a bandana and a face mask on his face.
Gaku sat down by the counter. Kai turned to him as if automatic. 'You're only helping Nene today,' Kai declared.
Gaku thought it over. 'Ok.'
'And for the rest of the week,' Kai added.
Gaku stared at him. He smiled, 'Ok,' he said warmly then quietly, softly, 'welcome home.'
'I'm home,' Kai answered. And it was with same softness.

Aunt Rosie brought a weird cat as a present for the residents of the Hazbin Hotel 🌹
Farad’n: Well… as unfortunate as all that was, I am relieved that your possessed Aunt’s plotting fell through. I suppose now we have to figure out how to try and clean up all the messes of corruption and rebellion within the Empire to try and get some semblance of order back.
Ghanima: Don’t worry, Leto’s going to turn into a giant worm and live and rule for 4000 years!
Farad’n: What–
Leto II: And I’m taking your Sardaukar.
Farad’n: C-can we go back to the part where you’re going to turn into a giant worm and rule for 4000 ye–
Leto II: I will also be marrying Ghanima but you will be fucking her because I’m putting myself in charge of the Bene Gesserit breeding program.
Farad’n: ….
Leto II: I no longer have genitals.
Ghanima: It’s true!
Farad’n:

Familial Terms You Might Want To Know For Your Chinese Fics
It was recently suggested to me after my post targeted towards fic-writers about titles and terms used in Chinese fantasy that I should also make one about familial terms. Apparently, it’s rather common to see confusion and mix-ups on this front as well amongst fanfiction.
DISCLAIMER: I myself am not Chinese. I enjoy cnovels and cdramas, but I am South-East Asian. Please don’t come to me for advice or explanations on any Chinese language; I do well with the titles and honorifics because my native language also employs those, but that is the full extent of my expertise. Also, please note that while there will be indications of if a term is formal or informal, the ones that I don’t know will be left un-indicated; feel free to let me know if you know.
Also also, I will not be including things like second cousins, third cousins, nor the in-laws for any of those relations. If I were, I’d might as well just write a book.

Multiple [insert relation here]?
What if you run into a situation where your relative has multiple siblings? Let's say for example, your father has 3 older brothers and 2 younger brothers. The eldest would be"Dabo" [Big Elder Uncle], the second and third oldests would be “Erbo” [Elder Uncle Two] and “Sanbo" [Elder Uncle Three]respectively. The younger uncles would be “Wushu” [Younger Uncle Five] and “Liushu” [Younger Uncle Six]. NOTE: Your own father is counted amongst the ranks of his brother, so he would be the fourth, and would be called “Sibo” or “Sishu” depending on which of your cousins is addressing him.
General Prefixes
Wai- : “Outside”; indicate maternal lineage on some relations
Tang- : Used in relation to descendants of father's brothers
Biao- : Used in relation to descendants of father's sisters and both mother's brothers and sisters
Gao- : For relations four generations senior of self, i.e. great-great-grandparents
Zeng- : For relations three generations removed of self, i.e. great-grandparents; great-grandchildren
Zu- : For relations two generations senior of self, i.e. grandparents, great-aunts, and great-uncles.
Sun- : For relations two generations junior of self, i.e. grandchildren, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Xuan-/Yuan- : For relations four generations junior of self, i.e. great-great-grandchildren, etc.
Ji- : “Afterwards”, for step-family

Radioapple but the marriage of convenience trope where Alastor marries Lucifer for the massive societal upgrade being Hell Royalty offers, and Lucifer marries Alastor because Lilith is gone and Lucifer has to deal with all the Hell Politics now and he has no idea what he's doing but Alastor, professional manipulator, radio host, and Overlord, has extensive experience with People and Politics.
Prime territory for feelings to develop as a simple business transaction slowly morphs into actually caring about one another.
Vox throws an epic tantrum when he finds out and the whole of Hell enjoys a week of him crying about the new 'Queen'. Alastor, in the Royal Palace that is blissfully screen-free, doesn't hear about this until it comes out in the papers.

is this relatable to everyone or just me

so at what point does something became a trope again?

“Artemis Fowl goes back to his old days of crime to steal an amulet rumoured to be worth millions and to grant the user power of some sort. MI6 was the first to hear about it. They send in young and skilled Alex Rider to hunt the thief down and take the amulet back. However, when Artemis’ plan almost succeeds, Alex uses the last weapon in his arsenal to put an end to it, which he certainly doesn’t mind using.”
me trying to write backstory for a comic lmao ✌️😗
One of my favorite dead serious things is actually Damian being the first to fall in love because he has like one of two reactions to it usually and both are wonderful
The first one is immediately over the top declarations of love in a very posh proper fashion which is always hilarious
And the second one which I think is more common is him going "oh shit no fuck God no shit no no" in quick succession in his head while he realizes that he is very much in love with this pretty ghost idiot
Meanwhile Danny is like in the corner staring at a dorito wondering if he can fit the whole thing in his mouth without breaking it
