Misfits

Misfits

Maggie was sitting in a park under a tree writing in her diary. She was new in town and once again new at the school. This and the fact that she didn't interacted much with the others and kept more to herself led to the point that the other kids liked to pick on her, calling her weird and strange.

She didn't cared. She was used to it being the new girl at school and she was used to being treated that way. It wasn't like she tried to be this 'mysterious girl' with secrets how they called her, or to be the stuff from which horror stories were made of. She just didn't liked talking to people that much.

Maggie preferred the silence and being by herself so there were fewer things that could trigger her, or more that could trigger what was slumbered inside her, always trying to break free. It was better this way, safer. For everyone.

She was so engrossed in her writing that she didn't noticed the people around her or what was happening around her.

"None of what you're saying makes any sense!" She repeated again before her eyes followed his hand. Maggie raised an eyebrow and frowned in confusion, wondering what he was up to now. She barely had time to think before he had already had made a little card appear. Her mouth fell open slightly when she saw that, just for a millisecond before she regained her composure and collected herself again.

Maggie's eyes remained fixed on his hand and the small card as he took it down again and handed her the card. Just as confused as before, she looked up from the card and into his eyes. "What's that?" She asked as if she couldn't already guess what it was, as she slowly took the card from his hand and took a closer look at it.

"None Of What You're Saying Makes Any Sense!" She Repeated Again Before Her Eyes Followed His Hand. Maggie

The word Avengers was written in capital letters on it and his name Henry P. McCoy underneath. The moment she read this she heard him say 'Mama McCoy'. "McCoy…" She whispered more to herself and looked back at Hank, who was now kneeling in front of her and giving his Oscar-worthy performance. This sight and this act would definitely have made her laugh again if her head hadn't been somewhere else.

Her thoughts were literally circling around the name McCoy when a sudden pain went through her head, followed by scattered fragments of memories that were too blurry to really identify. Maggie touched her head briefly before rubbing her eyes, sort of trying to stop the images as she held the card out to Hank again.

"None Of What You're Saying Makes Any Sense!" She Repeated Again Before Her Eyes Followed His Hand. Maggie

That was ridiculous, McCoy was certainly a common name. For sure that meant absolutely nothing.

"Okay… fine...! You win…" She said quietly, finally giving in. "I'll go with you…"

"None Of What You're Saying Makes Any Sense!" She Repeated Again Before Her Eyes Followed His Hand. Maggie

Bahahahaha some strange anon just called Maggie a mainstream oc Mary Sue because she's the daughter of Hank because of her abilities and because everything on my websites evolves around her.

Like sweety... have you also read her weaknesses? She literally can barely use her abilities without running the risk of hurting or damaging herself or even dying. Almost all her abilities could kill her if used to long and too much. Not to forget the Darkness that constantly tries to take over her body and she always has to watch out not to lose control and with that lose herself.

Just because she has all that abilities doesn't mean she can use it with no problem. It's also funny to me that Maggie gets called a Mary Sue while for example Wanda exist in the Marvel universe. But ofc it's only a problem because Maggie is an oc. I'm pretty sure none of this would have been a problem if she had been a canon character.

Yes Maggie is strong and yes she can be dangerous and deadly but nothing of this comes without a price. For example the moment she had a mental breakdown and destroyed all of HADES? Yeah she also lost herself for a moment there, she lost control and almost died. And when she woke up realized she didn't only had destroyed HADES and killed it's minions but also those she considered her brothers and sisters and who didn't managed to escape in time. A similar thing happened later on, when her foster family was killed because of her and her abilities. All those people she wanted to protect and save, for who she risked her life so many times died because of her, because she didn't had herself under control or because she had those abilities that other people wanted. That was the price she had to pay against her will.

I don't give my character any abilities without also thinking about giving some kind of balance.

And ofc my website evolves around her. She's the main character of that story! The website is supposed to be about HER and HER story. You wouldn't make a story and website about Peter Parker but everything evolves around May or MJ. It's like saying the main character of a story is a Mary Sue because it's the main character.... of it's own story.

And your point with she's a mainstream oc because she's the daughter of Hank like thousnd other characters... I would really love to see these thousnd characters cause I literally never saw anyone else with an oc that was his kid. I could understand it with the child of Steve, Natasha, Bucky, Tony, Scott and all those big characters who really have like thousned oc children but Hank?

I'm not saying this is such an unique idea and no one else before me made an oc child for Hank but it's really not that much like you put it by saying the internet is flooded with his children.

Like I'm always open for constructive criticism and suggestions for improvement etc but not like you did by just calling my character a Mary Sue and mainstream for things that is pretty normal in an universe like marvel. Almost everyone there has abilities that would make them a Mary Sue and mainstream.

People really need to stop this hypocrisy by celebrating canon characters that are written like that but then hate on ocs that are like that. The only difference there is those people get paid to create a Mary Sue while we do it for free because it's fun.

Watching the 90s cartoon of the X-Men right now in preperation for the new series that is coming out soon. I found it in german and watching it with german synchro and almost done with season 4.

Anyaway there was a moment where Sabertooth said Mystiques name but it didn't sound like her name is usually pronaunced at all. The voice actor kinda made a "Mystik" out of it with such a heavy german accent that I understood Miststück there 😭 That's german for bitch and I was so confused I had to watch it a second time to realize he was saying her name 😭
