I'mma Rant For A Second.

I'mma rant for a second.

Someone please validate me.

I think I'm beyond justified when I say that no one listens to me.

This show (Come From Away) is running for three days. I've had the five shifts (4 on the weekend, 1 Friday) for three weeks. Counting my conversation with my parents a few minutes ago, I have explained what this show is, where I am, what it's about, and the history behind it 23 times.

6 times to my mom

4 times to my twin

2 times my older sister

3 times to my dad

8 times to my grandparents

What the actual duck does a girl have to do to get someone to listen to her?

All I'm asking is that people make an actual effort to remember what I tell them, especially when I talk about something I love.

My coworkers (4 of them) have asked what I know about it, and they all remember the basics of what I told them. They even listened to the soundtrack like I recommended!!

My sister won't even take ten minutes to listen to two songs with me. My mom doesn't even remember what the first song is called (I've told her 5 times now). I know for a fact that none of my family will listen to the music on their own.

I just want to share what I'm passionate about. I want others I know to share in the joy I find in this show and others.

And, y'know? I keep finding that this is a reoccurring problem. I can't bring it up to anyone, though, because they all tell me that I'm overthinking it or looking too much into it or seeing things that aren't actually there.

Humans are designed to pick out patterns in everything. We pick them out and we create them.

I see a pattern, I point it out, and I get told there's nothing there.

Either I'm gaslighting myself or everyone else is gaslighting me.

Someone please validate me. Please tell me I'm not crazy. Please put a name to these feelings because I'm going to shatter if someone tells me one more goddamn fucking time that I'm seeing a pattern where there isn't one.

I would cry like I want to, but that would ruin my make up. I have another shift in about 2.5 hours, and I don't have my makeup back with me, so that's a no go.

I'm gonna go read. Thanks for listening

Okay, we're back! It's only been a few minutes, but I've eaten and I still have some left over for a snack during my next shift.

Also, the show today is Come From Away. The song Prayer just finished. I 100% recommend this musical, especially to my friends in the USA. It's a tribute to the 911 disaster, telling the story about the planes that were forced to land in Newfoundland. (Fun Fact: Gander is the only place outside of the US to have a piece of the original World Trade Centers)

Back to story thoughts!

A plane that leaves Rome, Italy at 10am Italy time (3am Japan time) isn't going to arrive in Japan at 5pm Japan time (12am Italy time). I think. The time difference is 7 hours, but the flight is 12.5 hours (not counting layovers and shit)(assuming the average flight speed is 500mph (805 kmh)(434 knots) and adding about 30 minutes for take-off/landing)(thank you google).

So if I leave Rome, Italy at 10am Central European Summer Time (CEST) then I should arrive in Japan at 10pm CEST (3pm Japan Standard Time (JST)).

Let's see if I got this right: 10am CEST is 3am JST. That means a twelve hour flight is going to arrive at 10pm CEST/3pm JST.

Please tell me that's right. I just spent way too long trying to figure that out.

I just spaced out for a solid minute there, imagining a worst case scenario.

Good job, me!

Information from Supervisor B I need to remember: Clock out 16:10ish, go do lunch or smth, come back for second shift by 17:45 at the earliest. If I want to be backstage again, let Supervisor B know.

Gotta put my stuff away. I'll be back when I can get away with getting my laptop back out again.

Ja matane! ( ◜‿◝ )♡

The first show of the day has started, that means I can now get away with being on my laptop.

What will I do?

Write stories.

Unfortunately, not the ones you guys here on Tumblr want. Those ones are being put a little lower on the list, but I'll come back to them soon enough, don't worry

Y'know what? Here's my thoughts while I'm writing my story because sometimes I just gotta say things.

SPOILERS (kinda)

This one is posted to ao3, but the chapter is not up yet, nor is it going up for a few days.

I accidentally created a metaphor for three of the characters. I didn't mean to! It just kinda happened.

My writing style has changed slightly from the last time I worked on this story. I had to put it (and other projects) on hold for a little while and only recently picked it back up. [Un]fortunately, I had a backlog I was able post for a while before I ran out, giving the illusion that my break was shorter than it actually had been. The problem now lies in the fact that my writing and speaking style (which mirror each other more than people seem to realize) have changed a bit from a few months ago.

Hopefully, this isn't something people will really pick up on. (The change kinda snuck up on me, too, because I've only just noticed it)

Time Zones are hard to figure out. I live in the US, so I have a base understanding of when to contact a friend in Florida as and when to contact someone in Washington when we all want to hang out together.

This, however, does not mean that I am capable of figuring out the time difference between Rome, Italy and Tokyo, Japan. (7 hours)

I spent way too much brain power trying to figure that out. Please send cookies.

Also, I haven't eaten yet today. I should probably do that.

...

I think I will. I'll be back later

I haven't eaten yet (it's only been a minute) but I'm so stupid! The time difference between Italy and Japan is 7 hours, but a flight is 12.5 hours!

Shit! Now I have to use more brain power and google.

But first, food
