Headcanon that after Double Life, the soulmate pairs are still connected, but just barely. They'll feel the pain of the other, but to a much lesser scale, and their deaths aren't linked. The main connection is with emotions, and when one person feels a strong emotion, their soulmate will feel it as well.

I just think it's most wholesome with soulmates on different servers who don't see eachother often.
