On Daily Practices...

on daily practices...

The easiest way to have a consistent daily practice is simply communication, but on the long term, it's about building a repertoire of everyday charms.

I believe we talk a lot about the importance of divination without giving proper examples of everyday use outside of the more ceremonial sphere. Divination isn't just a tool to communicate with familiars or spirits for your witch endeavors, it's also a tool to sit down at your ancestral altar and chat whenever you want to talk to someone who's already crossed to the Other Side, or even just to receive daily guidance on the most mundane matters from those Spirits that watch over you.

Some witches struggle with daily practice because it seems like everything has to be a Big Ritualistic Thing, when it can (and probably should) be more casual on the daily. It's less likely your daily practice will involve planning a Big Ritual with Big Bad Demons and more likely it'll involve lighting a candle to your folks, a cup of coffe or just a deck of cards.

Big Rituals are important but they do not represent what we do on 90% of days. Daily witchcraft for me looks like simple libations, divination, and small charms and tricks, subtler and simpler than you'd think, but that can also be a challenge for the beginner because it doesn't rely on invoking external powers but rather on your own acquired ability to pull certain strings.

It's not something done overnight, it requires consistency, to build that muscle a little at a time and also experience to build that repertoire of tried and tested everyday charms. But you have to start if you want to get somewhere.

You can really do witchcraft as much or as little as you want to/feel like, and you won't be any more or less of a witch.

You can do spells when you are upset, but think about the situation and what you want to happen first.

Let the Following be Understood

No one is entitled to your body, except you.

No one is entitled to your time, except you.

No one is entitled to your abilities, except you.

No one is entitled to an explanation of your craft, justifications or to your craft as a whole, except you.

Your personal existence is yours. Feel free to share it but if someone makes you uncomfortable or demands something, understand that it is yours and your personal expression and you are not obligated by any means to need to justify or give parts of yourself to someone who wouldn't give you the same luxury. Don't let entitled people steal your soul, your heart, your being.

Emotional Healing Bath

Emotional Healing Bath

I recommend doing this in tandem with Shadow Work & Trauma release exercises. I saw a great thread on twitter that I'll link. I am NOT a professional- please be sure to do your own research and you can always use different herbs in this spell! Edit it to your liking, I made this a few nights ago for someone special. So I thought I'd share it with you guys.

Emotional Healing Bath

What you'll need? - draw this sigil on a piece of paper to put into your jar or beneath your candle, if you are doing a bath you can always put this sigil in your satchet and trace it into the bath while stating your intentions. The usages of the sigil are explained in the linked post. I personally used colored pencils & took a page from my favorite notebook to draw it <3. I used Yellow for happiness & pink for love and then on the back in orange wrote my intentions for the sigil.

Emotional Healing Bath

For those interested in a Spell Jar, you'll of course need a Jar and a Green candle to represent growth which you will seal the jar with. If you're able to I recommend carving the sigil linked above lightly into the candlewax. If you're interested in a spell candle, you can do one or multiple candles. I recommend any of the following colors: White for purification and renewal. Green for Personal growth & healing Orange for Mood Improvement & self confidence Yellow for Happiness and Confidence in Self Expression. Focus on what you are looking to get from this reading when you're choosing candle color <3 If you feel drawn to a different color for a different reason then go with your intuition.

Emotional Healing Bath

A/N: Obviously these herbs have way more spiritual correspondences, but to keep it simple we're going to focus on the intention of the herbs for this specific spell. Witch Hazel Planet: Sun Element: Fire Gender: Masculine Moving on, releasing Grief, Mending broken heart, find inner balance. Amaranth Gender: feminine Planet: Saturn Element: fire Mending a broken Heart

Chamomile Gender: Masculine Planet: Sun Element:  Water  Peace & Calmness Chrysanthemum Gender: Masculine Planet: Sun Element: Fire Happiness & Elevated mood! Ashwaghanda Planet: Moon & Mars? Apparently also the Sun. Mental Power & Enhancing Mental Health! Hyssop Masculine Jupiter Fire Relieving Depression & for a more positive outlook on life salt FOR THOSE WHO DO A BATH. U can use the salt to ground the stagnant energy that is causing blockages and when u drain the tub it's like removing those blockages from ur life!!

Emotional Healing Bath

I really recommend making a playlist for your bath that consists of comforting and emotionally relieving songs. For those who are taking a spellbath with this recipe, the goal is to release so that the spell can do it's job to heal. The salt is really a big help for this reason, so don't be afraid to cry.

Money Bowl:

•rice

•coins and money

•mint & basil

•green stones or finance related crystals (I used tigers eye, adventurine, pyrite & snowflake obsidian for a few different purposes)

•green candle

1. Fill your bowl with rice, place your coins and money around, place your herbs and stones

2. Place and light your candle with intention to bring in money!
