Oc-tober Day 1: Going About An Average Day
Oc-tober Day 1: Going about an average day

Prompts by @icannotreadcursive
-----
[ID: A comic depicting Leila Suleiman, an original character, going about her day. She has large glasses and ahort hair that is covered by a headscarf in two of the panels.
At 5am an alarm wakes a grumpy Leila to pray the morning Fajr prayer. At 6am she drinks a cup of chai, regaining some energy for the day. Where previously 9am was written, it is crossed put and replaced with 8am, which is when she starts to get work calls. Leila's expression looks like the calla already make her tired for the day.
10am, Leila fights multicolor manifestations of magic with spiraling patterns, for work. As she blocks an attack with a single gloved hand, she recites a prayer of protection to herself. Eventually she catches it and the crowd cheers! Except for one concerned audience member who says aloud, "We all almost died today..."
By 3pm Leila goes to her lab with the contained magic and begins her research process. "Finally, evil science hour!" She works in the lab until very late, and the captions for each hour reflect that. "5pm- Lab still. 8pm- Girl leave! 12am- Yeah she just crashed." The last one shows Leila head down, slumped over her desk, knocked out from overworking herself.

Oc-tober Day 2: Going out on the town prompt by @thepromptfoundry

This moment would end, she was keenly aware of it, but for a moment maybe she could allow herself to be a kid for a bit. Explore and shop around the town that had so kindly taken her in. Maybe for a moment, it wouldn't be so bad to be stuck in this place.

Inktober & OC-tober: October 1st, 2024 (Romance The Backrooms)
Hey everyone!
So, this year, I have decided to participate in Inktober’s, well, Inktober event, and OC-tober, the latter specifically with @icannotreadcursive / @thepromptfoundry ‘s prompt list. Basically, how it works is that I will do a drawing & a story adhering to the prompts.
For the first half of the month, I will be doing these for the characters of my story Romance The Backrooms, a liminal space otome with 5 main love interests. For the second half of the month, I will be doing them for the characters of my IF Comp game Yancy At The End Of The World!, mainly to promote Yancy!’s Kickstarter, which launches at the beginning of November.
Today’s Prompts: Getting up in the morning & Backpack
Characters: Carla
Other Info: This is Part 1 of what will be a series of stories dealing with Carla trying to come to terms with her grandmother’s death. Please know that this is primarily what the story is about and treat accordingly.
_________
Carla woke up and sat up in bed, blinking as she tried to remember where she was. Then she remembered: she had rented a cottage in the woods for the next two weeks. Right.
It had been her father’s idea to do so, and she didn’t usually listen to what he had to say, but for once, it was good advice. Even broken clocks are right twice a day. And in this case, her father was correct: she needed a retreat from normal life to really deal with her grandmother’s death.
. . . Even thinking about it that way seemed wrong. Like the fact that her grandmother was actually dead was inconceivable. But Carla had seen the body herself, gone through the funeral and everything. The woman who had basically raised her was gone. That was the truth.
Carla got out of bed, and her eyes landed on her bags: she had a backpack for her hikes, which was mostly empty for right now, and next to it was her suitcase, full of clothes & supplies.
One of the many items in the suitcase was the box: the last gift her grandmother had given her. She had not yet opened it, but knew she had to eventually. That was partially what this trip was for—to give her the space and time to finally open that box. Hopefully, she would get the courage to do it.
For now though, Carla got her toiletries and a pair of clothes from her suitcase, then went to the bathroom. After she showered and brushed her teeth, she was ready to go.
Carla went back to her suitcase and put some supplies inside: binoculars, snacks, water. As she picked up her sunscreen, she found The Gift underneath it, and paused for a moment, staring at it. Then, she put the sunscreen in her backpack, closed the suitcase, and stood up.
Maybe there was a nice place in the nearby town where she could get breakfast. . .

EEPY BOY

Day 1! Let's go!
Getting up in the morning can be a pain for our little lazy demon. Chop is an oc I finished making this year's spring. Expect to see him every day <3
I have a post listing the basic details of Chop if you're interested!
@thepromptfoundry is the one who made this prompt list.
