Me: Oh, you mean after colonization, right? All indigenous people recognize that there's not just your white, European binary and some cultures actually celebrate us.
Fun fact: Nonbinary people have existed since before the first written texts, proven by mentions of a third gender in the first written word. In some cultures (e.g. Indigenous Hawaiian culture), saw them as deities/gods. Conversely, people denying the existence of a "third gender" has only appeared in the last hundred years.
