With its “he sleeps like a bear” pointed look, long suffering husband eye rolls and all the “I’m you’re huckleberry”, I made you watch cowboy movies couple argument, oh and by the way I was literally suicidal last week but now you’re back I’m on cloud nine even tho everything else is just as shitty, isn’t at least very blatant homoerotic subtext and somehow is totally just bro stuff, that the writer had no idea it would be remotely seen as romantic and thought it was just totes hilarious buddy content, given the show has a history of everyone fucking knowing these two are shipped like mad, meanwhile all the other writers are also consistently in this run of episodes building the subtext with “what’s bi is bi”, “you might be able to forget about that (Cas) but I CAN’T!” etc. then I think we need to re-evaluate perceptions of intent here.

The cast knew it was romantic cowboy shit, they tweeted #Brokebacknatural. We ain’t making this shit up.

Of fucking course the writer isn’t gonna tell fans and reporters that they fully intended to write it as romantic when it’s so up in the air and will they won’t they with all sorts of narrative and production things going on that mean it could go either way. JFC. Could you imagine?! It’s bad enough Bobo saying he was happy we said we saw Dreamhunter as romantic (through the use of Destiel mirrors no less), but no one is gonna flat out come out and say oh yeah thanks yeah it is totally being written as romantic between Dean and Cas rn, thanks for noticing! Jeez.

If someone doesn’t think this is at least intended as a tongue in cheek homoerotic shipping nod and genuinely is with the bronlies thinking that the writers haven’t got a clue what they’re consistently doing and all this is oh so accidental and the GA, normal fans and meta writers are making up the realms of consistent nods, tropes and storylines that add up to this coming across as fucking romantic, to the point that the GA latched on more than ever during s12-13 and even the bronlies admitted it was there cos they hated this episode because it was so fucking gay between Dean and Cas then I really worry for the value of their perception of this show or tbh any kind of fiction.
