The Classicist

This is the main tumblog of Silvie Kilgallon. I'm a conceptual artist and my work is largely influenced by my academic interests in classics, ancient history, translation, and philosophy of language. This blog details conceptual, casual and personal projects on which I am currently working. To see the Stitched Iliad project, please check out the Stitched Iliad blog below.

My Studio Space, With Nearly Everything I'm Currently Working On Visible (some More Masks In Kilns).

My studio space, with nearly everything I'm currently working on visible (some more masks in kilns). I've had a week off now from working on masks and I've used it mainly to catch up on the embroidery projects, and to feel sorry for myself but I think I need to get back to work now.

Six-strand, Five Point Woven Wheels, Three-strand Satin Stitch. I Prefer Satin Stitch To Be One-stranded

Six-strand, five point woven wheels, three-strand satin stitch. I prefer satin stitch to be one-stranded but I thought it might look a little too incongruous next to the woven wheels.
