Will Turner Headcanons

Notes: since my last two headcanon posts, I’ve gotten a shit ton of support so thank you so much

He’s always wanted to learn how to play the piano, but he never knew how to learn or who to go to. And where would he ever get a piano to practice on? He always wondered if Elizabeth knew how to play, and if she could teach him, but he never got around to asking.

After the first adventure with Jack, he found it incredibly hard to return to normal life. Of course he was happy to be marrying Elizabeth, but beyond that he couldn’t see anything but piracy.

When he and Jack were in the boat, arriving at the island, and Jack was listing all the reasons Will would make a good pirate, Will denied it. But he really didn’t want to.

Since his father wasn’t around, he found a father figure in the British Royal Navy.

He loved the time he spent on the Pearl. For the first time he actually felt free, and like there was a greater purpose. He was with these interesting people, hearing amazing ‘true’ stories, and he was happy for once.

He really likes poetry

He’s really protective of literally everything. Elizabeth, his friends, people he’s known for ten minutes, a cat. Everyone. He’s going to blame himself if anything happens.

He likes watching boats come into the harbour. It’s fun to think about who’s on board, what they’re transporting, where it came from. Stuff he’ll never know. Those people have lived entire lives, and he doesn’t know any of it.

When people ask him the simplest of questions he can get really philosophical and self hating. Especially if he’s a little drunk or hasn’t slept in days. Like someone could ask “hey do you want to go to on a walk?” And he be like “what’s the point of doing anything I’m going to die before I’m forty”.

He honestly really like his work as a blacksmith. He gets to use his hands, and make something he’s proud of. Everything he makes has a story and a personality, and he likes experiment with them.

He learned how to be a pirate from Jack. And he’ll always be one at heart.

           The week had been a rough one, and you were looking forward to the weekend. It would give you a well-deserved break from things. To start it out, you decided to eat a little, relax, and watch a favorite movie of yours. You didn’t bother actually making anything for dinner, you just popped something in the microwave.
