Honestly the most baffling part of when people do the whole "Why can't you just be GNC" thing (as opposed to transitioning) is how they just automatically assume you never thought about that possibility or are under the impression that transitioning would somehow be easier or more acceptable than being GNC and still cis, which is just disconnected from reality.

Extra embarrassing when they say this to a trans person who also doesn't really care about conforming to the norms of the gender they did choose. Like, the existence of GNC trans people either never enters their mind at all or they treat those people as somehow insincere about being trans or generally worthy of mockery.

characters who dig themselves out of their graves (whether literal or metaphorical) are at the top of the list. nothing beats a character who should have died but didn't and comes back to haunt their own life and the world around them, benevolent or violent it doesn't matter, it's enthralling either way
