John's parents' reaction was pretty cold, which isn't surprising—they’re both dead.

My parents—well, I think they always had a sense that I'd one day introduce John as my partner. Even though we didn't spend much time together, they noticed a change in me after John came into my life. I suppose parents just pick up on things like that. Naturally, they had their reservations, especially given John's history of violent behaviour. Once, during a visit, my mother pulled John aside for a private conversation. I could have deduced what they discussed, but I chose not to. After that, my mother seemed more at ease around John, and neither of them ever questioned my relationship with John @johnhwatsonblog . I think, for the first time, they saw me genuinely happy.

💫 I had to clarify this awkwardly on another website… so let’s not repeat that:

I forgot to mention that, as ironic as it is, no, I’m not named after the BBC Sherlock show’s depiction of John’s child, and no, I did not name myself Rosie online after I watched it, it was a nickname I used online when I was younger, and still use on some games and websites to this day. That is why I have it listed as a nickname in my “about me” post!

So yeah, uh, I don't think that confusion will happen here, but just in case. To prevent the “about me” from being too long I didn’t mention it there, but I’ve also been called Rośa mistakenly before, and Rosita in Spanish. Basically if you’re named after a flower people call you by every nickname (especially a title as universal as rose)

But I like the name 🌹

Ah but Dr. Watsonnn! Murders are so fun! I agree with anon and Mr. Holmes; Blogs like these make me want to be a detective or a forensic scientist when I’m older! Maybe not a high functioning sociopath like Mr. Holmes—uhh, there’s definitely good that comes from solving crimes!

I know there’s been a bunch of stuff going on, but I want you to know I really appreciate what you’ve done with the blog. Everyone who puts effort into this deserves a round of applause. I love how creative this is and I love getting home from school and checking to see if there is a new post. Keep up the good work!!

This digital painting was originally started like last year when my first portrait of Sherlock did so well on this site (for the first time anywhere) but I couldn't really finish this drawing until now, it's not great but I still think it's alright to share :D
