Taking another moment to shout out my husband who is a background designer on Futurama! He started on Disenchantment, was rolled onto Futurama later into Season 8 (so he was only on the final three eps), but he's on every episode next season, and is officially returning for the renewal in a couple months! :')

Once again wishing we had access to just his linework, but, alas. I hope someday he gets permission from the studio to share some of them. It's been very cool being able to see just his linework and designs. Color and effects are done by other teams on the show!

Background designers don't often get shouted out, and with AI being such a major issue, many background artists are worried they'll be the first to go (though, personally, I don't see any Matt Groening projects touching it with how vocally against it he and so many on people on the show were during the strikes) but that doesn't mean it still isn't a major concern all around.

So take the time to appreciate bg people, whether they do designs like Joe, or handle the color like so many other skilled individuals, otherwise all the characters would be walking around and living in THE VOID.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’ve seen so many posts of people arguing or being upset over this celebrity or that musician being shitty and supporting a genocide, not to say these conversations of people being held responsible shouldn’t happen, (they should). But if you’re going to spend so much time obsessing over celebrities, the least you can do is spend 2 minutes watching a video of someone who is actually in Palestine.
