Neuvillette likes to collect the starfish so that he can gift them to the Melusines, and he often scouts the outside of the Fortress of Meropide for them. He still gets caught in the search lights every time and sets off the alarm. Its happened so many times that he just shouts at the lights and has a conversation with Wriothesley (headcannoning that the Fortress has under water speakers for the funny haha)

“Wriothesley, you know its me. You can turn off the alarms.”

“I dunno, how do I know you didn’t escape from the Fortress?”

“I AM LITERALLY YOUR HUSBAND!-“

then neuv has to go all the way inside the fortress to prove he’s not an escaped convict and wrio is v happy to see his husband
