Okay, so I know I haven’t been active. School is kind of getting in the way and I’ve been burnt out, buuuut, oh my god. I’ve been listening to this conceptual album about homers odyssey and the second album gives me such whumperflies when I imagine it.
Odysseus stuck in cave with Polyphemus, a cyclops, and he makes the mistake of killing his favorite sheep so now he’s angry and decides he wants to kill all of Odysseus’s men and saves him for last. Although, both in the conceptual story and the real story, he gets out and saves some of his men. But what if he didn’t get out, if he couldn’t be clever enough to trick the Cyclops and all of his men died in that cave. He would be left alone with the cyclops as the last man. Polyphemus claimed he would be the last one to die, but what if he decided to change his plans and kept Odysseus like a pet to play and toy with, like a trophy for capturing the King of Ithica. I think that has some great whump elements to it, and it could even be a Giant/ Tiny dynamic.
Fun thoughts of the day.

With Lilith’s hand rested lazily on the lever, Cordova could feel his vision blur as he started to zone out. He began to feel his heart pounding as if trying to escape, his body was working overtime to compensate for the speed of his heart rate. His breath was labored as if there wasn’t enough oxygen in the world for him to breathe. He could feel the tips of his fingers tingling almost numbingly. He could have sworn that he could here his own blood circulating in his ears. His body was incredibly tense and yet he felt like his soul could leave his body at any second, if he had one that is. What’s happening to me? He had never experienced such an event, all he knew was that he wanted it to stop, but it wasn’t showing any sign of letting up. His chest was heaving and his hands shook against the silver restraints.
“Woah, no way.” Lilith looked on curiously. “You’re showing symptoms of a panic attack. I didn’t even know you could experience those. Fascinating.”
Cordova felt a his chest tighten as if a weight had been dropped on top of him, followed by a lump forming in his throat. What’s a panic attack? Am I really having one, is this normal?
“Listen, I’m not one for comforting, but maybe if I open the roof then you’ll snap out of it on your own.”
Through his wide-lens view, he saw Lilith pull the lever down enthusiastically. Almost immediately he was brought back to reality, his fight-or-flight trying to activate. He had never felt so much fear in his life, but he knew he never wanted the sun to touch even a hair on him ever again. The ceiling rumbled as the doorway to the sky was peeling itself away. He finally pushed the lump on his throat deep down and found his voice. He didn’t even think about what he was saying, it didn’t matter. “WAIT! WAIT! PLEASE! Please stop, please please please I’m begging you, please don’t let the sun in, please please, I can’t take it again, do anything you want to me, ANYTHING, just please don’t… d-don’t burn me.” Cordova continued to mutter incoherent pleas like a broken record player.
Lilith grinned from ear to ear as butterflies swarmed her stomach. She brought the lever to a middle placement to stop the ceiling from opening any further, but it didn’t retreat back. Cordova looked up at the ceiling and took a breath of relief as he laid his head back on the table.
“Oh, poor vampire. The sun frightens you so much that your own fear induces a panic attack in response to your trauma. I’d almost consider that human. But tell me, why shouldn’t I burn you? What’s going to stop me?”
Cordova lolled his forward so he could see Lilith. Her fingers danced along the lever as she leaned her back against the wall. How could I make her get away from that thing? He tried to think of what made her go over there in the first place. He remembered her faltering slightly when he cursed and threatened her, when he lashed out she seemed to want to correct his behavior. Is that it?
“Nothing to say? Well I tried.”
Lilith pushed the lever down, the opening grew wider. A ray of sunlight beamed past Cordova. His whole body shivered. “W-wait wait, stop, I-I’ll cooperate. Please stop it.” Lilith raised a brow, then leveled the lever.
“Cooperate? What makes you think I can’t force you to do what I want you to do? I mean, if you’re burnt to a crisp then that’s less restraint and struggling on you’re end which would make my job a whole lot easier, don’t you agree?”
“B-but, y-you don’t h-have to do that. I-I swear, you really don’t need to. I…” Cordova couldn’t believe he was stooping so low, so low as to apologize to a human, even begging to her put a dent in his pride, but nothing compared to the sheer force of the sun. “I’m s-sorry. Sorry for curs- c-calling you a bitch, a-a-and threatening you. I-I swear I won’t do that again, I’ll take anything you do to me w-willingly. I-I’ll answer your questions. Just please don’t do it, don’t burn me… Lilith.”
It showed on both of their faces that each of them were equally surprised by the use of her name, especially from a vampire. Lilith chuckled and sighed loudly.
“Well, how can I say no to that?”
Lilith pulled the lever up and the ceiling began to close. Any tension in Cordova’s body disappeared and he finally felt good enough to breathe. Lilith was practically skipping over to Cordova, humming amusingly. When she stopped in front of him, he could feel his chest start to tighten again.
“So, what should we get started with?”

Cordova didn’t sleep, the presence of the knife in his body was unnerving. The handle sticking out acted as a reminder of how easily he could remove the anomaly if he wasn’t bound by the silver bindings that had been burning his flesh. Every time he tried to relax the knife would brush against any organs near it, causing him to stay tensed.
The silver door scratches the concrete floor. For the first time Cordova looks away from the handle and stares at Rojan. His eyes flare a bright red and he bares his teeth. Rojan sighs as he walks in with some sort of a book.
“You do realize that you don’t look all that intimidating when you’re bound, right?”
“It would be an entirely different story if I was free, you would be shaking, screaming, begging me not to kill you.”
“Well obviously, but that’s not the case now is it. Here, let me show you something.”
Rojan pulled up a chair and sat in front of Cordova. He opened to the first page of the book.
“This is like my scrapbook. Every vampire I’ve ever killed is in this book. Now you’re going to be my 25th kill.” Rojan lifts the book so Cordova can see the page. “See, I put their name, their age, how many days it took for them to ask me to kill them, and one of their fangs. Like a little momento.”
“Do you think I give a shit about your weird custom human? If anyone’s going to die here, it’s going to be you.”
“Says the vampire with a silver knife in his body.”
Rojan stands up and places the book on the seat. He walks over to Cordova who, despite knowing how useless it was, was still trying to break out of his restraints. Rojan placed a firm grip on the handle and pulled the knife out with all his strength. The wound quickly sealed, along with the one on Cordova’s back.
Cordova sighed with relief, it was the first time he had relaxed since it was placed there. Rojan grabbed a handkerchief and wiped the blood from the knife before placing it back in his holster. Rojan slightly chuckles getting the attention of Cordova.
“Sorry it’s just, I mean I thought you vampires were supposed to be like apex predators or whatever, but it’s so easy to catch you guys. I mean all I had to do was wrap a silver chain around you and kick you into a silver box. For such strong creatures, you’re not all that impressive.”
“You dare insult me with your cowardice ways human.”
“Oh please, it’s more like leveling the playing field. Besides, you can live for hundreds of years. Speaking of which, how old are you?”
“Why, so you can put it in your book? Why should I give you the satisfaction human?”
“Because if you don’t then I have a fun activity we can do today. I don’t know if you’ve noticed but do you see that circular shape in the ceiling.”
Cordova looks up and sees it. “What about it?”
“Well, that circle opens up to the sky, and it’s the hour where the sun is at its highest and hottest. Would you like to bask in the sun for a little bit?”
Cordova’s heart skips a little at the thought of burning. He’s never been touched by the sun, but he’s heard other vampires accounts and they had all claimed it was the worst pain they had felt. It was bad enough getting burned alive, but to not be able to die after the excruciating pain is horrific. He tried to keep a poker face to not play into Rojan’s threats.
“Or you could just tell me your age.”
Cordova glared, not saying a word.
“Suit yourself.”
Rojan walked past Cordova as he pulled down on a lever on the wall. The circular doorway slowly opened, exposing the bright blue sky. Cordova’s body tensed in preparation. His chest rising and falling faster as the sky became more visible.
Finally, a ray of sunlight peered through, just missing Cordova’s feet. All he could do was stare at the light as it creeped closer to him. Rojan came back into view and sat in the chair holding the book.
The sun touched Cordova’s feet and immediately got to work at burning his body to a crisp. His eyes went wide with fear and panic as it took little time for the searing pain to cause his skin to dry up and practically bubble as if he was being boiled. His screams filled the room as the table shook violently from his thrashing. His dry skin flaked off, his blood boiled, and whatever was left would be charred to a crisp leaving the lingering acrid smell of charcoal and sulfur filling his nose. The sun climbed up his body as the minutes went by. Every time Cordova thought he would get used to the sensation, an untouched area would go through all the stages of torture, causing him to yell and cry. His lower body was burned, unrecognizably melted away. He hadn’t even noticed when Rojan stood up and walked to the lever, closing the opening in the ceiling.
“As much as your screams were music to my ears, I don’t want you to get used to the worst forms of torture so early. It’ll ruin the fun of breaking you.”
Cordova was breathing loudly, he stayed perfectly still, not wanting to feel his burnt flesh sticking to the table. He could feel his body healing, but at an exponentially slower rate than ever before. He dared to look down and witnessed his blackened skin that had also fallen onto the floor. He gagged at the sight, and the smell was enough for him to wish he couldn’t breathe.
“So, did you have a change of heart, or should I leave you to the sun’s will?”
Cordova shook his head, it was hard for him to get a word out. His throat felt thick from all the crying, and strained from the screaming.
“Well then, how old are you vampire?”
Cordova cleared his throat as best he could and quietly said, “120.”
“Wow, you’re the youngest vampire I’ve caught. No wonder you were so reckless.” Rojan wrote in his scrapbook. “Well, that’s it for today. I do hope you heal up fast, tomorrows going to be a special treat.”
Rojan stood up and left the room, shutting the silver door. Cordova had a constant stream of tears flowing. The stench of his own flesh consumed his nose. It was a smell he wouldn’t forget. It was getting harder by the day to stay strong, but he was still determined to find a way to get out, to find a way to kill that human.

Lilith had her arms crossed across her chest, her fingers tapping rhythmically on her bicep. Her eyes were scanning Cordova’s body top to bottom. She finally fixed her eyes to his feet and Cordova’s gaze followed.
“You know, I might have been able to help your legs heal faster by cleaning them up, but your feet are in no position to heal anytime soon. I could cut them off if you want them to heal faster.”
Cordova’s eyes widened. He was finding it harder to believe that she spoke of the act of amputation so nonchalantly. Of course he didn’t want to lose any limbs, he knew they would grow back, but who would wish to be amputated, let alone experience the pain? “N-no it’s fine, I-I can wait for them to heal.”
“Oh please, I’m providing you the mercy of amputating your limbs that have basically become ash. You won’t accept my help?”
“I-it’s not that. I-I just, um, I’ve been without bl-”, Should I say that? What good would it do to tell her I need blood? She obviously knows that and hasn’t offered. “I’m not exactly healing at the highest rate right now.”
“That’s true, you need blood to keep up with your regeneration. Either way, the dead skin has to come off somehow and I don’t have hours to just to peel it off myself.”
She turns around and walks straight to the tools, more like torture devices, and hovers her hand above them as if trying to feel for the right one. She reached to her right and grabbed a chainsaw.
“I think this one would be able to do just the trick. It’ll be able to go straight through the bone. This is definitely the most efficient way. I promise it’ll be worth it.”
Lilith crept forward, teasing the sound of the saw. Cordova’s body shivered. She stood in front of him, holding the chainsaw so that it grazed his right foot. He twitched at the cold steel and his heart rate exponentially increasing with every individual tooth of the saw that took turns touching his skin. “I-I d-don’t think tha-”.
“Didn’t you say you were going to cooperate? That I could do anything I wanted? Why are you being so defiant when you know it won’t change the outcome?”
“I-I’m just-”, scared, “-will you get it over with quickly?”
“If you don’t struggle, it shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes. I’ve had practice.”
Lilith places the saw firmly just above his right ankle. Cordova’s whole body tensed, his fingernails squeezing into his palms, he shut his eyes and faced away as if it would help him forget about what’s about to transpire.
“I’ll tell you what, tomorrow I’ll tell my husband to not do anything to you, so you can heal. Aaannd if you behave, then I’ll consider throwing in some pigs blood.”
Was she seriously bargaining right now? Of course I don’t want to get hurt, and pigs blood tastes like shit but it’s better than nothing. Cordova simply nodded hoping that was enough for her as he prepared himself. Lilith took that as her cue to start immediately.
The sound of the chainsaw echoed off the walls and filled Cordovas ears. The moment the chain hacked into his flesh his shut jaw was pried open by his drowned out screams. He could feel his blood splatter onto his thighs and hands. He reeled his head back as far as the table would allow. His wrists pressed into the silver restraints causing a searing pain that couldn’t compete against what he was experiencing. The chainsaw, relentless, moved passed the muscle and tendons and provided a new sensation that stopped any noise from coming out of his mouth. The chain hit his bone with a force that caused it to rattle up his right leg. Cordova swore he could feel it crack with the power of an earthquake. His foot was hanging slightly off on one side, practically doing some of the work for Lilith as it pulled on the other side. She finished but cutting off the remaining flesh. His foot hit the ground with a thud as the chainsaws visceral sound died down. Cordova hadn’t realized he was crying until he heard his own sobs, he grimaced as he inhaled sharply as if trying to keep his screams to himself.
“One more~”, Lilith said in a singly voice.
Before Cordova could mentally prepare himself, Lilith started to repeat what she had done to his left foot. Halfway through, Cordova was barely conscious, not making a single noise, eyes fluttering. His other foot dropped to the floor. Lilith placed the chainsaw down on the floor and picked his feet up like they were shoes. She walked towards the table and pulled out a waste bin dropping both into it. She wiped her hands on her coat and picked up the chainsaw as to put it back where she found it. Lilith pressed the button and the table leveled itself out horizontally. Cordova didn’t react, if anything it made it easier for him to slip into unconsciousness. Lilith made her way out, but before closing the door she turned to look at Cordova.
“Get some rest.”
