Thoughts Of Millies Depth

Thoughts of Millie’s Depth

You know, I see some posts about Millie’s lack of depth and development, including Viv’s responses to it and I wanna say this. I don’t want so very badly for Millie to have some tragic backstory or dark past. Really, I only want, at most, for Millie to have some sort flaw or something about her to have an episode putting her in the limelight. I mean, everyone else has it so crappy already. Stolas being wed against his will to a sheer bitch and abused and mistreated during that marriage, Blitz with his missing mom and manipulative dad - as much as he’s not present, too - sister doing rehab, and his former best friend hating him and having prothestics for all his limbs, Loona having lived almost all her underage years not being adopted and living in pretty much a kennel, and now Moxxie with a missing, beloved mother and a shitty father who threatened to kill him for disobedience and tried to marry him to a scummy ex against his will.

Honestly, it makes Millie stand out from everyone by not having it so crappy. Feels like a change of pace or a breath of fresh air or something. And really, so far, there’s a number of things I’ve noticed about Millie already that can be an episode.

The selectiveness of when to step in for Moxxie, for starters. If Moxxie’s in physical danger, then yeah, she’ll defend him. But as much as I enjoy watching Millie be a badass - the latest fight in Exes and Oohs was fantastic - Moxxie typically doesn’t handle the danger himself and he probably grew a little too dependent on her to take care of it. In fact, the only notable example I can think of when it comes to Moxxie fighting back is the first episode proper of the series, with the cannibal satan-worshipping family. Even then, that’s more like Moxxie fixing what he had fucked up. In sharp contrast, Blitz sexually and verbally harasses Moxxie and he’s left to defend himself. Loona, too, when she feels particularly active in being a bitch towards him. And there’s Millie’s family, who makes their disapproval very clear, complete with Sally not thinking twice about betting on Moxxie’s life. (And after Exes and Oohs, it hits me even harder in the gut since Moxxie’s own family life was absolute shit growing up). Basically, friends and family apparently get a free pass in Millie’s mind to pick on Moxxie, with only minimal resistance from Millie’s end, if there’s any at all.

In fact, about family getting a pass, Millie never really suspected anything about Crimson when first meeting him, even when there’s a building pile of things wrong. I mean, Moxxie’s tense and uncomfortable behavior the entire time he’s ‘home’ and around his father, the fact Millie’s been his wife for at least a year but has never ever been told about Moxxie’s family or childhood home or past life in general, and the lack of reaction from Crimson’s end when hearing that Chaz, the very same guy he wanted to welcome into the family, landed his son in the slammer. Seriously, no chastising, no threat of bodily harm, nothing. Even Blitz reacted more than that. (Although to be fair to Millie’s lack of suspicions, at least enough to act on them, Blitz was kind of like that, too. He only really investigated shit not because he thought anything was wrong with Crimson but because Blitz was wondering how the fuck someone like Chaz scored with both Millie and Moxxie)

There’s also the fact that Millie has a loving family and good childhood can be made into angst. Maybe Millie feels like she has to be one ensuring everyone gets along and that she can’t tell them about things that bother her. All because everyone else is suffering so much worse and she feels that her problems are minimal in comparison. Or not confiding in people about her problems could even be because of her parents, since they actually had the gall to chastise Millie over losing to a psychopath they hired. I mean, we already get these things in fanfics, it would be nice to see if Viv and her crew makes it happen for real (as in, in canon)

So I repeat: I want Millie to have a spotlight episode. Not a tragic backstory or dark past. Just something about Millie that would get the woman her own episode

Moments of Stupidity 4

Well, I'm not putting that quick recap anymore but I do wanna say, thanks to all the people who like what I post. This seemed as good place as any to say that. I mean, I'm someone who just wants to vent or at least let her thoughts out so it's nice that people are choosing to follow me or click on the heart to my posts or even comment. Anyways, up next!

C.H.E.R.U.B. -

Okay, so the TVs. I didn't think it was funny that Moxxie was made to be next to TVs for Blitzo to shoot bullets through. For killing his boredom. So I thought of it as dumber that Blitzo was just shooting multiple televisions. Even if they were cheap, I can imagine littles make lots so all those TVs together made for a damn good price. And Blitzo got them all just to shoot them as a boredom buster. They're supposedly poor or struggling with money so why the fuck do they just waste money like this? Fuck damnit...

Soon after, the thing with the 'hell quakes'. I mean, Viv never clarified if hell quakes were really a thing in her world - because from all the posts I read, she's not very good at worldbuilding and I don't doubt that. I guess I'm more invested in characters and their stories than the world they live in, if that makes sense - but I can still see Blitz being all 'is that a hell quake?' Feels in character, actually. I can still include him if it counts. But it does feel dumber when Millie tells Moxxie not to panic. Not only is Moxxie very clearly not panicking but he was confused if that was even a thing and then says that hell quakes can't happen. Again, it's never made clear to me if hell quakes are just a Wrath ring thing and Moxxie just doesn't know but, as long as I'm not told how it is, then I still don't get why Millie would tell her husband to not panic like he's having a panic attack. And I'm not sure about counting Loona going all 'stop being hysterical' because I feel like, in that scene, she very purposefully acted like she was freaking out just so she can have an excuse to slap the shit out of Moxxie. I guess I can include her here because there's a chance she legit was as stupid as everyone else. I just feel like how I interpreted the scene was more what that scene was

Blitzo bringing up to Loopty that the guy he wants to put a hit on will end up in Hell with him, and forever, too. I forgot this when I was posting about Murder Family but I'm wondering why Blitz is bringing up. It's probably more understand in Murder Family, given the context of that conversation, but here, I don't get it. Blitzo, you know that you're running a business to cater to vengeful sinners who want to get people they can't get to otherwise, right? Given that Hell has an population problem, then pretty much all the targets that your clients hire you to kill will end up in Hell with them. So why bring up that the clients' hated people will be in Hell with them like it's a bad thing that the clients shouldn't want? That'll just make your client base wonder what's the point in frequenting your business if it's like that. And I'm at least including this as a moment of stupidity because I really don't see the logic as to why Blitzo would bother doing this if it's just going to make his business and his services sound pointless to indulge in

Blitzo when he jumped through the window. Granted, it was funny and I loved that he got hurt but it wasn't smart for Blitzo to just jump through the window, especially if he just did it for dramatic effect

The cherubs for not doing something about the imps when trying to convince Lyle that there's good things in the world worth living for. I mean, the first time is one thing. Maybe the second time. But fuck come on, by the third time, are you expecting Blitzo and maybe Moxxie and Millie to not bring up something bad. Even when the imps couldn't, like with opera apparently, Blitzo and his employees were bound to. Sure, maybe the cherubs shouldn't do something as drastic or as violent as fighting them, but they should've made sure that the imps couldn't interfere anymore because they should've picked up on a pattern sooner than the opera house

Blitzo for having just his pistol or revolver or whatever (sorry, not a gun-savvy person). But I do remember reading on TVtropes that, whatever gun that is, it's a pain to reload and doesn't carry a lot of bullets. Really, he should've asked Moxxie for some of those weapons he carried. And yes, it would have been possible. Seriously, the writers had Moxxie have all those weapons he had in his coat or jacket and Moxxie's smaller than Blitzo. That means Moxxie jammed all those weapons in a smaller coat than Blitzo's. Because really, throwing the empty gun at Cletus was more of a desperate move and then Blitzo would have been left with nothing left. It was probably lucky that the episode ended the way it did

Millie and Moxxie for choosing to have sex while fighting cherubs. Who the fuck gets horny and desperately wants sex while fighting for their lives? What, did they think they were gonna die and wanted to go out fucking?

The audience for never getting the fuck out of there, especially when guns got involved. Fuck seriously, they never even tried ducking and using the chairs as cover. Even if it still wouldn't protect them, it would've still been something than just sitting there!

The cherubs for just watching the piano slam down on Lyle. Absolutely none of them even tried flying for Lyle to grab him and move him out of the way. Even if the piano was just gonna follow, it still would have been something

Deerie, her little posse, and likely Heaven itself for never picking up on demons roaming the Earth and killing people. If keeping up the masquerade was supposed to be important, then perhaps one reason would be that Heaven knows it when demons are unauthorized to be on Earth amongst the humans. Like with likely Verosika and Vortex and the cubi crew, they were allowed by Asmodeus to be on Earth but the show, at least at first, said that what I.M.P. was doing is less than legal. (Fucking weird that Hell of all places cares about legal but I guess some extent of rules can stand) But anyways, how the fuck anyone in Heaven could miss it, especially if they managed to catch Lyle accidently being killed? I'm feeling like that there has to take some level of incompetency and as a result, some level of stupidity

Moxxie at the end for not staying away from the walls in general and Millie for giving a fuck for those two times that he's under debris. For Moxxie, I'm thinking for the same reason as the cherubs in not detecting a pattern (but more forgivable given that getting crushed by something smashing the walls only happened twice in the entire episode). As for Millie, it's her beloved husband being crushed and struggling to breathe and she's not even trying to get him out. She's not even mad at the people who are doing that to him or ignoring him, and especially not at Blitzo who just acts annoyed over all the work that he's planning to give to Moxxie (in fact, I think I'll have to throw in the time of the rape threat in Murder Family because Millie was right next to them and saw Blitzo's face as her boss gave the threat. How the fuck did she miss all of that and still smile like everything's hunky-dory?)

Finally, I think the fact that none of the imps thought that Lyle was going down to Hell regardless. Seriously, Loopty's story had the line 'we tested on ourselves instead of the poor, like we usually do'. That really didn't sound like a horrible person to you? You thought that committing suicide was the only condemnable thing that Lyle would ever have done in his life? In fact, what the fuck did the cherubs hope to accomplish saving an old man they knew was shitty? Collin was one thing because he seemed to be naively good but the others had to have known so what were Keenie and Cletus hoping to accomplish from an old man they had to have figured since the start was going down to Hell anyways? Especially since that episode showed off just how strict Heaven is about letting people in there. Even if Lyle did a change from bad to good, the fact that he did bad at all - horrendous, despicable bad - is already enough to send him to Hell

Moments of Stupidity 6

Well, things are still going strong and I don't got much to say so here we go!

Truth Seekers -

First up, I.M.P. not wearing any disguises. Yeah, eventually disguises won't matter in the grand scheme of things but I guess I'll bring up ultimately irrelevant things when it makes a difference to the plot. And if I.M.P. had worn disguises, then this whole damn episode was bound to have never happened. In fact, all the images that D.H.O.R.K.S. had were images of before I.M.P. bothered with disguises so that just increases my sureness. There isn't any throwaway line as to why there's no disguises this time, like how all of them were destroyed and they can't afford more or that all the disguises were rented and they didn't have it in the budget this time

Millie for letting her emotions entirely dictate her actions and so demand that Loona opens the portal and likely demanded Loona's help, since Loona went ahead and packed up and did more help than open up the portal. Not that Millie can't do anything - it does feel unfair to just want her to wait for her husband to maybe come back - but there's no point in helping people if you're not gonna think it through. I know that Millie never thought of anything beyond just kill and she's lucky that her opponents are just as stupid or even stupider. And of course, it's because of Millie not thinking that she, her husband who she was so damn worried about, and the other two members of I.M.P. were in trouble at the end

Moxxie and Blitzo when they were antagonizing Agents One and Two. Sure, they shouldn't have been cooperative since they were impnapped, but they did suffer the effects of the truth serum because they angered One and Two so much and ruled out physical torture as an interrogation tactic. Really, Blitzo and Moxxie were lucky that they angered their captors so much that they forgot to ask questions while the imps were under the effects of the truth serum

Agents One and Two when they went about their investigations. Like Moxxie said, physical torture would have just gotten him and Blitzo to say anything to end the pain. And Agents One and Two don't have anything to confirm what's the truth and telling it apart from the lies regardless. Are they really supposed to just take their captives at their word? Then they don't interrogate them at all when unleashing the truth serum or while the serum was still working on Moxxie and Blitzo

Agents One and Two and their fellow agents when it came to their organization and how it runs. They thought of a password consisting of one number and one number only, they use impractical weaponry against more experienced assassins or assassins with firearms just for the sake of being cool, and no one ever brings out any guns until only two are left and those two are just incredibly lucky I.M.P. was completely tapped out at that moment

Stolas for fucking sparing the last two agents of the organization. Or, if you're so convinced and if you're actually right about how One and Two are kooks who'll never be believed, then fucking check if there's any damning evidence, like video cameras that's been recording the whole damn massacre. Just because Viv will take for-fucking-ever, if at all, to acknowledge D.H.O.R.K.S. again doesn't mean it wasn't incredibly stupid to leave some loose ends laying around

Oh, and Stolas was stupidly hypocritical chewing Blitzo out for not being careful. You're the one who took until Blitzo was gonna die to fucking do anything! In fact, how long were you fucking watching? The further back you go, up to the very start of this episode, then youu cared more about watching Blitzo deal with the D.H.O.R.K.S. agents like you thought it was just your favorite show. It's still the same even if you just watched as far back as the start of the massacre. Yet you criticize Blitzo and the others for not being careful? And you're still the one who gave Blitzo the fucking grimoire so you're stupid to act like it wouldn't be your fault whatsoever should you get in trouble (Not that it has ever mattered before. Seriously, the whole thing about Stolas and Blitzo dating or having an affair has mattered for one episode, even if it's just been one; there hasn't been a single episode yet where it matters that Stolas lent Blitzo his grimoire and no, I'm not at all counting the vague threats or consequences Stolas says in this episode and maybe Seeing Stars)

Moments of Stupidity 7

Again, I don't got much other than maybe I should upload more pictures sometime. I definitely took a lot on my phone. Just need to get through the trouble of a cable (admittedly a little lazy on that)

Ozzie's -

Probably the first instance is that I.M.P. is still not wearing disguises when they came back from the job. If this is really supposed to be after Truth Seekers, when they got captured by supernatural-stuff investigating agents due to not being disguised, then it'd be rather important to be fucking careful. Again, we don't even get any throwaway explanations, like there isn't enough money in the budget for disguises. Even if I.M.P. were in an isolated location, one would think it's a good idea to at least be extra cautious for a while soon after something like Truth Seekers

Next would be Millie, for not treating it like a big deal that Blitzo doesn't give a fuck that he's going to intrude on her and Moxxie's wedding anniversary night. This episode was legit the first episode where I noticed how Millie never reacts to any important shit, especially not the shit that Blitzo does. So I was watching Millie dismiss Blitzo planning to invade like an alien intruder, I was thinking 'why the fuck do you not care?' Like seriously, even if Millie enjoyed her boss's company, especially more than Moxxie's, wouldn't this woman want to spend time with her husband alone sometimes? Wouldn't she at least care that her boss's behavior is greatly bothering Moxxie and so would want to do something about it? And the part where she says id because him get to you', that's so fucking stupid because she should know that Blitzo is going to be there on their fucking anniversary night stalking them and spying on them. How the fuck does that not bother anyone!?!?

Blitzo could be stupid for not doing any research on Ozzie's whatsoever. I think most people would assume it was a normal establish you can enter like anyone else. (Although he was very clearly sneaking in and that could easily be seen as suspicious for the bodyguard or whoever at the door to do his job over so that there's already stupid) But then there's inviting Stolas along. I think that's definitely the stupid part because, Blitzo, did you really expected Stolas to leave you alone the entire damn night? Whether it's the out-of-depth lover boy the writers want to turn Stolas into all of a sudden or the lustful douchebag that Stolas actually is, Stolas is still going to constantly give you attention. You can't just ignore him! Honestly, Blitzo is probably lucky Stolas is too stupid himself to really notice anything that can get him in trouble with a demonic prince

Speaking of, Stolas for not at all noticing the fucking gigantic Ozzie's sign above the establishment where he's having his 'date' with Blitzo. Apparently, Stolas cares so much that Asmodeus is there but still went inside Ozzie's establishment. He didn't even know that until happening to hear the damn name (Speaking of, if Blitzo cared so much about not running into Fizz, you'd think he would look up where the fuck Fizz worked at. Seriously!)

Anyways, Stolas gets stupid for all of a sudden caring that he's caught being out with an imp. I mean, majorly, unbelievably stupid. Because Stolas invited him out to be a bodyguard in Loo Loo Land and was so fucking blatant with his flirtations both there and in Harvest Moon Festival. So why the fuck does he care now!? Stella wouldn't be quiet about how Stolas cheated on her so even more demons than otherwise are bound to know!

Wally's stupid for reacting to Stolas being with an imp like it's shocking news when he was the fucking host for the Pain Games in Harvest Moon Festival and saw for himself how blatant Stolas was in flirting with Blitzo. Why the fuck did Wally not call out Stolas then?

Back to Stolas, he was also pretty damn stupid for trying to invite Blitzo to do shit with him after the night they had. Fuck seriously, what part about that night made you think Blitzo would still want anything to do with you? You were already lucky that Blitzo was willing to give you a ride back to your home for some fucking reason so you were just pushing it until you finally toppled it over

I'm actually not sure if Blitzo was stupid for announcing his presence via defending Moxxie and Millie's sex life. I mean, I don't want to leave it out if there were other ways Blitzo could have defended Moxxie without taking a bullet like how it played out but I can't think of other ways. (Whether it was stupid or not, though, I still liked it because it got Blitzo to cry on the couch and feel like shit after six whole episodes of being a piece of shit)

Gott call out on Millie again for whacking Fizzarolli on the head with a guitar. Sure, she wanted to defend Moxxie since it wasn't Blitzo doing the harassing this time but she targeted the employee of a sin. Even without knowing that Fizz is Ozzie's lover - which makes this even stupider - this is still pretty damn stupid to do because Millie could have landed not just herself but also Moxxie in hot water. They're just lucky that they're only kicked out and no doubt banned

Finally, I gotta call out Moxxie on singing a love song in the most popular sex club or whatever like that in the Lust Ring. Fuck seriously, that's like singing 'My Little Pony' at a rock concert (and no, I don't mean that song as a rock cover or whatever you call it. I mean that song in all its fluffy-sounding glory). Why the fuck would you do this? Moxxie really should have serenaded her anywhere but the Lust Ring and especially not Ozzie's

Oh, and I guess I should include Ozzie. It's like, how did Moxxie get that mushy love song past the sin of Lust obviously not going to approve? Did Ozzie assume that Moxxie was fully aware of his club's reputation and definitely would provide a lustful song? Sure, Ozzie went out of his way to correct the situation but this feels like something that would have been checked prior
