God, that feeling when scenes from your fanfic having been playing in your mind like a movie for weeks, but the second you sit down to write, it's like you've never had a single fucking thought in your life. My brain has undergone a factory reset.

I love that this, as well as the canon magazine cover we see in the game, don't show any of the multitude of scars we know Ray has, implying one of two possibilities:

1- some poor editor running on fumes is airbrushing the hell out of his photos

Or

2- he is caked in enough makeup to fill a kiddie pool

And one of those options has to happen every time he's photographed without a shirt on because this man's body looks like a cutting board (and that's to say nothing of all the moles and freckles you know he has. This poor man is rushing to apply an even layer of foundation every time he puts on his costume).

Thinking about when Mc was on the internet looking up Binary Star media. They had to have seen a few magazine covers, right?

So, seven years ago when I was super into FEH, I drew seasonal Gunter/Nerr alts for all the (then) seasonal banners we had, and while I was recovering from covid during quarantine, and went back and did some special art for two (as in, the art that shows when specials are activated).

Like, holy shit the difference 3 years of actually drawing and not giving up all creative endeavors due to crippling depression makes.

I've only ever written one story in a modern setting, but using a phone as characterization was the first thing I thought of and I was so excited to be able to finally do it:

I carefully lifted her phone, turning it over. There was a new large crack across the screen, this one spiderwebbing from the bottom corner.

Pressing the power button, the screen came to life, showing a provocative illustration of some blonde cartoon man I’ve never seen before. I was about to put it back in sleep mode when I just barely noticed the words on the bottom of the screen: Swipe to Open. … really, Maddie? Not even a pattern? I guess what with living alone, she wasn’t worried about anyone going through her phone. I swiped, and the screen changed to another provocative picture of another blonde cartoon man I didn’t recognize. She… really had a thing for muscular blond guys, huh? In fact, the black, dead-eyed stare of the man on her home screen felt kind of like looking into a mirror. So maybe she wasn’t hurt. Maybe she wasn’t attacked. But she definitely left in a hurry, not even taking her phone with her (and I knew, because she told me, that she took her phone everywhere- even in the bathroom).

i think we as a society need to use cell phones/laptops/cars/backpacks to flesh out characters
