Did Anyone Else Think About Faust When They Heard Gale's Story Of His Folly? The Whole Fandom Compares

Did anyone else think about Faust when they heard Gale's story of his folly? The whole fandom compares him to Icarus, to some other mythical characters, but it seems very few people see the obvious.

Gale is Faust. While Karsus was Marlowe's Faust, who wanted only power for himself, Gale is Goethe's Faust, who wants to help people, who pursues power "for the greater good".

Reminder to my fellow writers and creatives: I'm proud of you. Whether you wrote today or not. Whether you researched for your story or not. Whether you developed your characters, made playlists, answered tag memes, read for fun, or just rested your brain best you could.

Finally got some proper photos of my Gale cosplay and I'm just a little bit obsessed. I didn't go into this game expecting to meet a character who speaks to me on so many surprising levels, but he's rapidly become one of the Most Characters Ever to me and I can't wait to portray him again.

Knowledge

Gale's a freak. Gale x Tav, they visit Candlekeep and get up to... extracurriculars... in one of the libraries. For @silent-words' kiss prompt, thigh kiss.

‘Plenty of knowledge to be gained in a place like this!’ said Gale,  throwing his arms wide and turning slowly to encompass one of Candlekeep’s vast libraries.

‘Gale, it’s 2am,’ Tav complained, rubbing her eyes. ‘You woke me up to study?’

‘Well, yes,’ he said as though it were the most natural thing in the world. ‘I haven’t seen you all day.’

‘But…’ she watched his face change. Its open earnestness narrowed into an evil little smirk. ‘Wait, what are you planning? Gale-’

‘What?’ he asked, shrugging. ‘My love would you mind, there’s a book behind you I want to read, on the language of flowers.’

She didn’t trust him one bit, but she played along, turning to scan the shelf behind her. Seconds later she shrieked as he caught her by the hips and picked her up, laughing as he whirled with her, pressing a kiss to her belly. ‘Gale damn it we’re going to get thrown out!’ she laughed, ineffectually batting at him. His eyes gleamed.

‘Kicked out for this? No,’ he said. ‘But perhaps…’ he set her down on an empty table. ‘Stay.’

‘Gale-‘ Tav’s voice was a warning. ‘I know that look.’

‘Hmmm,’ he agreed, amused. Caging her body with arms either side of her he pressed forward for a demanding kiss of filthy tongue and teeth, his momentum sending her leaning backwards, helpless to his onslaught. ‘This is a scientific exercise,’ he murmured. He kissed her again, moaning into her mouth, his hands deftly removing her robes.

‘We’ll get caught-’ she gasped.

‘I don’t care,’ he moved down her body, lips barely skimming her skin. She went to lift her hands and he twined them instead, tutting. ‘Ah-ah. Wait.’

‘But-’

‘I said,’ his voice dropped to a dangerous purr, ‘wait.’ Slowly, he reached her thighs. He stroked her skin, savouring the shiver that went through her, and turned his mouth, hot, kiss swollen and so close she could feel his beard tickling. Achingly deliberate, he pressed his open mouth to her inner thigh, licked the salt from her skin, sucked and looked up to watch her face contort as she sighed in pleasure, clearly aching to touch him.

Footsteps in the hallway. ‘Shit,’ said Tav, tensing beneath him. ‘We need to-’

‘What part of my instruction was unclear?’ Gale replied, a low amused rumble against her skin. ‘I said stay. I’m not done. And we’re not leaving until you’ve learned a lesson. Understood?’

She whined, heat and a little fear washing through her. He continued to suck bruises into her thighs, not even pausing when a voice called out beyond the door.

‘Are you alright?’

‘Answer him,’ said Gale. ‘Calmly now.’

‘Fine,’ she said breathlessly. ‘I- sorry I just- some of this is shocking, you know.’

Gale bit. She yelped, eyes going wide as the door handle began to turn.

I think it's Gale hinting at Tav to take him by the hair and drag him to the street, and do anything they want with him. Our wizard is a bit masochistic, isn't he?

Tim is gorgeous, as always, by the way, his voice made me fall for the wizard even faster and harder.
