Inktober - Day 30

Inktober - Day 30

You had to walk past slowly and calmly, as if you couldn't see it.

Next year, someone make sure I decide if I want to cross-hatch the picture before 10 o'clock at night.

Thank you very much to everyone who visited our table at London MCM Expo last weekend! Sarah and I had a great time chatting and eating cake! I hope everyone enjoyed their comics! This is the last spooky photo for October. I hope you are having an awesome halloween!

We took these photos on Sunday morning, so there is a couple of comics missing from the photos. We had a lovely time catching up with Gemma Sheldrake and now we have some stock for our table at Thought Bubble! We should also have more copies of Jack’s Alex The Abominable comics!

I’m excited to go to Thought Bubble already! You’ll be able to find our table in the all new Allied London  Hall. It looks much bigger than I expected! So many comics to see!

  Thanks agian!

Inktober - Day 26

Inktober - Day 26

More wonky anatomy, oh dear. This is what happens when I draw late at night.

Since you can sometimes see them a little bit in 3-quarter angle pictures, I wanted to show what the ritual modifications the Vrega get look like. Almost all Vrega are subjected to this when they come of age, as part of their Trial. Technically the spikes can be placed anywhere, as long as they're worked into the bone, but these placements are traditional. After their Trial women are usually taught how to fight using their new arm-spikes. Men just have to get used to not being able to sleep on their backs.

Inktober - Day 27

Inktober - Day 27

One more before I go to bed.

One of the features Vrega don't share with humans is Ereth lines. 'Ereth' is an old Vrega word for fertility, and Ereth lines are loosely a kind of minor erogenous zone that appear when they're touched in the right way, and supposedly improve fertility. Meruch's come up very dark and are unusually extensive which should mean he's very fertile.

He's embarrassed by how dark they are and doesn't really like people seeing them.

Sketchavember - Day 8

Sketchavember - Day 8

It's Shasta! I've been painting new postcards and naturally I included one of him, even though he's consistently the worst seller, because I love him and I'm going to keep drawing him until someone else does too, dammit.

Also, theme applied! All further Sketchavember pictures will be fantasy-themed (as opposed to sci-fi, horror etc.) supernatural themes may or may not count, I haven't decided. Expect fairies.
