Inktober 2017 : Day 18 - Brush Pen And Ink Wash
Inktober 2017 : Day 18 - brush pen and ink wash
Isaac knows a lot of sung prayers, but he doesn’t remember where he learned them. I was inspired by Heikala’s beautiful process videos to try and get some finer lines out of my brush pen, it’s hard but I really want to learn how to do it. I also found a spare waterbrush pen which I filled with diluted ink, so now I can use ink wash at work! Nobody will ever know! Speaking of work, this accurate skeletal hand is brought to you by A Colour Atlas of Clinical Anatomy. (I work in a medical library.)

Inktober 2017: Day 6 - fineliners and felt tip pen
Turning the pages for Spider is by far the hardest part of this exercise. Nettle is trying to practice moving only the things she wants to move, but I don’t think she’ll ever be able to use her powers without some of her hair waving around.
I realised last year that I’ve drawn a variation on this theme for every Inktober since 2014, so now I want to keep going and see which I run out of first, different ink methods or ideas.
Inktober 2017 - Day 9 : gel pen
If you pick a magical fight with Nat assuming he’ll be as unprepared as his sister, you’re going to get yourself seriously hurt. In fairness, getting struck by Jessie’s lightning is probably going to hurt too. The difference is Nat won’t hurt himself as well.
Inktober 2017 : Day 4 - fineliners and felt tip pen
Here’s someone we don’t see often (because he’s too hard for me to get on-model), Franz! Prompted by my nose being in bloody tatters after four days of this cold.
Inktober 2017 : Day 15 - mapping pen (and some others) This one is a bit of a hodge-podge, it’s mostly mapping pen, but I used a brush pen for the black areas (including the shine on the ribbons) and a fineliner for the red. A bundle of oak, thorn and ash twigs tied with red string will ward off fairies, both good and bad.
