I was re-watching Hōzuki no Reitetsu lately, so here’s two different ‘hōzuki’ drawings. I should probably admit they’re from a loooong time ago, since my budding paparazzo of a friend posted one of them on Twitter the day I finished it. She has no respect for my queue.

I have more Diamonds! I wasn’t joking about the Diamonds being my favourite thing about Steven Universe, when the new episodes came out I started about 3 different sets of portraits in a fit of enthusiasm. You’ve already seen the mixed-media ones, so here are some watercolour ACEOs! Including two different versions of Blue Diamond, because whether her hood is up or down makes such a big difference to her design. I also love how Yellow Pearl is just so happy to be Yellow Diamond’s pearl. You can tell by the smug face she pulls, there is nothing she would rather do than serve Yellow Diamond. I fear if I were a gem I’d be more of a Yellow Pearl than a Rose Quartz. Still to come: bookmarks.

A commission from last year, with one from two years ago for the same person. You can see the baby from the 2014 picture as a toddler in the more recent one.
I don’t think I ever advertise these baby portraits anywhere, but people somehow find out about them. I think it’s because people commission them as Christening presents, so then other people see them at the ceremony and decide they want one too?

I’m trying to learn French, so that seemed as good an excuse as any to start watching Miraculous. I like the difference in facial expressions between Adrien as himself and Adrien as Chat Noir. So far in my French lessons I haven’t learned the past tense (for talking about my day and such), so my long-suffering sister has been subjected to several descriptions of the show because it’s all I know how to say.
Rebecca: Oui. Je sais.
