OKAAAY. So. Jack is dead and Wendy is grieving her husband, as one would. Beetlejuice, being the little shit he is, stumbles upon Wendy and sees her as an easy target. She can see him because. You know. Ghost and unusual things fanatic. He convinces her that if she says his name and marries him he’d bring back her dead husband. She agrees but Beej never finishes his end of the deal. Meanwhile, he’s doing all of his typical demon things because he has free range now, but he grows attached to Wendy. She can see him, she makes him feel seen in the emotional sense, and she treats him like he’s alive and human.

Probably more to add as we continue to develop the lore but yeah-
