"i Didn't Like It Because Marinette Was So Uncomfortable-"
"i didn't like it because marinette was so uncomfortable-"
YEAH she was BLINDSIDED by the realization that she had been rejecting catboy for sunshineboi, and all along they were the same person.
but she slowly started to see who adrien and chat noir were and to fall in love all over again in a more complete way. and it was beautiful.
and more importantly, once she realized that being in love with Adrien also meant she was in love with Chat--and once she saw the both of them as the same person--she reached out and showed him who she was in return.
when she said "I'm ready now" she was saying she'd finally accepted that she was in love with Chat Noir too, and she was ready to tell him. if she was STILL UNCOMFORTABLE with that idea, I REALLY DON'T THINK SHE WOULDN'T HAVE DONE THAT.
BTW, I don't know if it's coincidence but she says the same phrase "I'm ready now" in Glaciator 2.0 when she practiced her honest confession to Adrien...with Chat Noir.
je suis prêt. i am ready.
it's very real and tangible. a rare moment when Marienette is open and honest and real about her feelings--not just spouting romantic daydreams and getting worked up over nonsense. but clearly ready to face it.

More Posts from Rosycoconuts
I’ve already covered this topic in my post about Emily hiding her true self, but imma say it again!
No, I don’t think that Adrien is a sentimonster.
And here’s why in a few points
•First if all, Adrien has his own mind and his own personality. Sentimonsters don’t.
•Adrien does not ALWAYS obey his father. Hell get out as Cat Noir and break the rules to have more freedom. Sentimonsters HAVE to obey, they work like that. They don’t have a mind of their own.
•Gabriel or Nathalie would have noticed it. Just like Nathalie felt the presence of Feast in the same episode.
•IF Adrien was a sentimonster, he would be dormant without a older, just like Feast. Now, Emily might be his holder, but since she died, he wouldn’t be able to have a mind of his own since she doesn’t control him anymore.
•About the ring. Adrien probably saw Gabriel play with his ring, and it reminded him of his lost mother. That’s why he let himself get akumatized, in the hope that he could see his mother again.
More proofs coming later.
OOOHH
I like the way your guys' interpretations and I kind of agree with you guys!
I still think that it was mostly because he had a slight confidence/happiness boost as well as Marinette's newfound knowledge that he is Chat Noir and can't stop seeing as Chat Noir and vice versa (we know how the episode beautifully went).
But I mean also remember Adrien in Season 1, when he new to school? He didn't exactly act like he did when he was in Ephemeral, but he did have a few moments here and there of what people would assign that to be "Chat Noir".

Some are freaking out because Adrien acts like Chat in their school.
But I'm wondering, it must be how Adrien acts all the time but because most episodes are focused on Marinette's POV, we can only see what she does. In Ephemeral, she is paying extra close attention to him thus, we see him joking in the class.
Idk. I kept thinking about it.

He is very much both to me
I also love his relationship with his mother
the fandom after season 3: felix graham de vanily is a piece of shit
the fandom after watching gabriel agreste: the enemy of my enemy is my friend
You know what’s sad about Marinette never even considering Adrien as Cat noir and Adrien being so ready to Jump on the Idea that Marinette is Ladybug?
It’s the fact that we will never get the worst/best Cold War of Chat Noir Vs Ladybug, both of them examining every interaction they to for some scrap of proof to prove the others’ identity and both of them coming up with planes to contrive a clue.
Ooh yeah, that particular bit of fanon is scrapped. Adrien will immediately jump on the slightest evidence that Ladybug could be Marinette, skipping the whole "finding a smoking gun" phase and just going "Yep, that's my Lady!", while Marinette Will Not Consider It unless it's literally staring her in the face.
Kinda funny, since fanfics often pushed the opposite, especially with Adrien. Even now, "Oblivious Adrien Agreste" is SO ingrained that there are still fanfics and jokes about it, even though he's shown that he can sniff out Ladybug, EVEN when she's wearing another costume, like in Feast and Kwamibuster, and has zero difficulty believing that she's the love of his life.
The entire premise of miraculous ladybug centers on this idea of an eventual identity reveal. That's the core of the entire galaxy-brained concept. And the writers decided to maximize that by giving us what-if scenarios. So instead of building up to the one and only reveal, we get to see, in canon, multiple scenarios for how it could go. We've had the amnesia plot. We've seen Adrien find out first and we've seen Marinette find out first. I bet you anything next up is a simultaneous reveal and I don't even care if it sticks or not because writing all these different reveals into the plot is such a genius idea. We get to see every option, not just "the" option. I get that it's frustrating to have progress erased but you will never hear me complaining about getting "what if" episodes. How lucky are we that we get them at all?
