I know people are sad that marinette support system is declining with her barely talk to her parents anymore and it is really saddening, but adrien support system is now nonexistence with nino just throw the secret out of window and it hit me harder because his support system is never been as huge as marinette and he just lost the last person he could potentially tell his secret at.
It really is sad for the both of them yeah..
The thing is, Marinette has all the resources of a good support system: she has good parents, has lots of good friends, has Alya, heck even has Chat Noir. But she choses to not use them or to distance herself from them (except for Alya - for now) because she doesn't think it's safe and is scared of so many things.
Adrien however does not have the resources Marinette has for a good support system. His home life don't offer him this chance (even more so when his family is literally the villains of the show), he has friends but less than Marinette and cannot see them as often at all, he doesn't have anyone knowing his identity and well, we can't really say he has Ladybug these days as she is distancing herself from him just like he's also distancing himself from her the more he doubts.
The difference as well is that Adrien never planned on telling his secret to someone (well, neither did Marinette but she had reached a point where it was impossible for her mentally to do so, except by being the guardian she's giving herself this option, while Chat Noir has been told repeatedly how secrets identities are important and he'd see that as himself betraying Ladybug's trust to do it, so it doesn't even consider it an option).
But yeah if he was to ever consider revealing himself to Nino, it's been kind of discarded for now because... Nino told him that 1. him and Alya had no secrets 2. he told Adrien their heroes identities which might not make him want to entrust Nino with his 3. he basically called Chat Noir annoying to his face... and that makes me very sad because it's a lot of a misunderstanding but it'll have big consequences
So anyway, I'm rambling (as I do lol) but it's hard to compare the two as they're in two very different situations, none of which are very enviable at the moment... and they're both getting more and more isolated

So... about how Adrien refers to his father
So I was just thinking about Adrien's home life (as one does), and remembered the way he addresses Gabriel and how absolutely heartbreaking it is.
First of all, he uses "vous" (formal "you") when talking to him instead of "tu" (informal "you"). People only use "vous" when referring to teachers/strangers/etc., but never their parents.
(for a bit of context, Marinette uses "tu" to talk to her parents, and so do Chloé, Alix, MylÚne, Luka, Juleka, and probably some other people that I'm not remembering now)
The only other people who use "vous" to refer to their parents in the show are Kagami and Félix (and Zoé when talking to André but that's just because he's her step-dad and they're not exactly close yet. Most children use "vous" to refer to adults who aren't related to them, unless they're extremely close).
To make things even worse, Adrien calls his father "PĂšre" (Father) instead of "papa" (dad), but he called his mother "maman" (mom), as we can see in the episode Chat Blanc.
Again, the only other person who is that formal with their parents is Kagami, who calls her mom "MĂšre" (Mother).
Even Félix calls his mom "Maman," despite using "vous" to address her (so I assume that Adrien also used "vous" with his mom, which is still sad but I guess he was less formal with her than with Gabriel).
Something even sadder? In Chat Blanc, while Ladybug and Chat Noir were confronting Papillon, Chat Noir is using "tu" to talk to him, which shouldn't be used by children when talking to an adult that they're not close with because it shows how little respect they have for that person. So of course, Ladybug and Chat Noir are going to use "tu" with him.
However, the second that they find out it's Gabriel, Adrien immediately switches to using "vous," which, again, children only use with adults who they aren't close to nor related to. Literally the only reason you would use "vous" with a family member is because you're not close to them and/or are afraid of them (it's probably both for Adrien).
And can you believe that it gets even worse?
Here's a scene from the Climatika 2 (or Stormy Weather 2), directly translated from the French dub:
Adrien: *smiling widely* This photo shoot was awesome, dad!
Gabriel: *glares at him* Hm?
Adrien: *his expression changes immediately, he now looks really sad* Um... sorry, father. Uhh... It was very interesting.
So the only way I can interpret that is that Adrien used to call him "papa" in the past, and only started calling him "PĂšre" recently. He accidentally slipped back into the old habit of calling him "papa," and Gabriel was able to correct him with just one glare.
So yeah anyway here's your daily reminder that Gabriel Agreste is a trash human being who doesn't deserve to be a father.

Notes: I will finish this, I promise. Donât worry. Day six: clown. @ladynoirjuly
Chat Noir noticed right away that Ladybug was in a bad mood.
Considering the increasing burden of protecting the city from the now duos of Akumas and Sentimonster, plus the frustration of not getting anywhere particularly telling to find Hawk Moth with the help of the grimoire, it shouldnât be a surprise. But his Bugaboo had been in high spirits in the last few days, Alyaâs support and his own making a dent into the stress that was piling up on her. So when she showed up to an akuma fight all frowns and curt words, he did a double take.Â
Caught up in his thoughts, he was nearly hit by a bunch of small, red balls, only dodging because Ladybugâs yo-yo wrapped around his wrist and pulled him away.
âThanks, my lady!â He grinned. âThat was a nice je-â
âNot now, Chat Noir.â She snapped, with an angry flush to her cheeks. âWe have to end this now. Lucky Charm!â
The smile dropped away from his face as red and black cotton candy fell on her hands, making her angrier, if possible. He could admit that he wasnât very fond of this akuma, either. Not that he actually liked any, but some were easier than others. The Jester was proving themself to be a problem, though, with the weird ability to infinitely take off their clown nose and turn whoever it hit into a laughing mess that canât do anything else. It looked right up his alley at first, puns making his tongue tingle, but since the akuma was too fast, he didnât have the time he needed to quip.Â
âChat Noir!â He heard Ladybug calling and cursed himself for getting distracted again. When he looked over, she saw her throwing an object at him. âCataclysm it!â
It was one of those plastic flowers that squirts water. âOn it! Cataclysm!â
The flower came undone and the small black butterfly flew out, barely flapping itâs wings before being capture by Ladybugâs yo-yo. Uncharacteristically, she purified it quietly and sent it away.Â
âMiraculous Ladybug!â She called out, releasing the healing lovely that shut down the hysterical laughter from the affected citizens on the streets.Â
âW-what happened?â The plain-looking girl sitting on the ground stuttered. Chat Noir did a double take when he realized that it was the akuma victim.
âYou were akumatized.â He explained softly. âYou were-â
âI-I donât really want to know, Mr. Noir.â She said, cheeks flushed red. âCan you please get me down to the streets? I wanna go home.â
âI can take you-â
âNo, really, itâs fine.â The girl said, withdrawing into herself further.Â
He sighed. âOkay, climb on my back.â
She did just that, hiding her face against his neck. As soon as they were on the ground, she climbed down as fast as she could and stammered a âthank youâ before running down the metro steps, leaving her now fixed joke flower in his hands. His heart hurt, he hated when the victims werenât even willingly to talk about their problems by the end, it was much harder to help that way.Â
âTough akuma, huh.â Chat said when he arrived back at the top, Ladybug waiting with an annoyed expression. âPound-â
âWhat were you thinking?!â His partner shouted and he took a step back.
âWhat are you talking about?â
âYou almost got hit today just because you were joking around! I told to stop doing that, Chat Noir!â She snapped and he shrugged, trying to keep a nonchalant stance.Â
âCouldnât let the akuma outshine the true comedian of the hour, huh.â
âYou canât let the akuma hit you just for a stupid joke!â
âItâs not stupid, bugaboo. I know you love them, you already confessed.â He cooed, pleased.Â
She turned even redder, if possible. âNot all of them are funny! Some are just stupid!â
He started to laugh, before it quickly faded away. A memory came to mind, one which he tried to suppress because it haunted-
âItâs not funny!â
âYeah, I know.â He supposed the muted tone of his voice was jarring enough, because Ladybug deflated.Â
â⊠Chaton? Is everything okay?â She asked and, if it wasnât for the growing pit of regret growing in his stomach, he would have found the fast change from annoyance to concern in her voice funny.
âOf course, why wouldnât it, my lady?â He tried a smile but her face didnât change.Â
âYouâre doing that thing again.â
âWhat thing?â
âSmiling, but not really.â At her words, the smile dropped from his face. âC'mon, you know you can tell me anything. Is it your dad again?â
âNo, not right now.â He said, rubbing the back of his neck. âI just remembered that my jokes really arenât all that funny. A friend of mine would certainly agree with you.â
She clicked her tongue. âI told you loads of times that you arenât funny sometimes, that canât be it.â
âItâs not that, itâs just that I played a joke on this friend of mine and she didnât think it was funny. She cried, Ladybug. I felt awful and she did forgive me, but maybe Iâm just not good with jokes at all."Â
Marinette had been incredibly upset when he pretended to be a statue in front of her and he could see her hurt blue eyes as if she were standing in front of him.Â
Ladybug frowned. "But she did forgive you, didnât she? Was the joke that bad?â
âWell, I didnât think so.â He said, having spent tons of nights thinking about what exactly went wrong that day. âIt was a simple prank, really, but she got really upset. Maybe she just doesnât like pranks.â
Marinette had been extremely upset when she found the gum on her seat on the first day. Then again, it was because she thought it had been ChloĂ©âs doing.Â
âYeah, your friend could be a downer.â His partner teased. He was acutely aware of her elbow nudging his arm.
âNah, sheâs the best.â He said fondly, thinking about Marinetteâs kind nature and bold personality. âIâm probably not that funny, really.â
âIf you say so.â Ladybug said and he caught sight of a sour frown on her face.
He raised an eyebrow. âItâs okay, really, my girlfriend didnât think I was funny either.â
âWell, it doesnât matter. I think youâre funny.â She said firmly, seemingly unaware of what it did to his poor heart.Â
âIf my lady says so, it must be right.â Chat grinned, elated. âHey, did you feel that? Think itâs going to rain?â
âWhat? I didnât feel-â Ladybug sputtered as water squirted on her face from the flower in a laughing Chatâs hand.Â
He waited for her to shout an angry âChat!â and turn red, but she just stole the toy from his hands and aggressively squirted water on him, laughing when he hissed. It was a loud, beautiful laugh.Â
He could listen to it for days.
You know what, I am gonna say it. Iâm not holding back anymore.
If Adrien is a Sentimonster, his life is worth less than the human charactersâ.
Thatâs not my opinion, thatâs what the show literally tells us with every single episode with a Sentimonster in it.
The show kills Sentimonsters left and right, and the heroes arenât concerned about this at all. The idea of a Sentimonsterâs life being worth protecting has been brought up only because the Sentimonster in question looked just like a person who already existed. And even Sentibug got killed off casually. They got over her death very easily.
It doesnât matter that the characters say Sentimonsters are real people. It doesnât matter if the lore is that theyâre just like real people. It doesnât matter if the audience views the Sentimonsters as real people. The narrative doesnât treat Sentimonsters as real people, because they are killed on-screen casually and constantly.
If Adrien was a Sentimonster, him throwing his life away for Ladybug so thoughtlessly would be the right way for him to behave. Because Sentimonstersâ lives arenât as worthy of being preserved as real peopleâs.
