I don't know if you are the right person to ask this. If not please just ignore this.

I am a big fan of Romana and wanted to get into the Gallifrey audios. Since I am not a big fan of downloads I am asking myself if the separate seasons are consecutive meaning I should start a the the beginning, getting the CDs still available when I get there or if they can be listened to independently and I can just get the CDs that are available right now (especially considering sales that happen from time to time)?

The Gallifrey series is split up into different major plot arcs and you wouldn’t want to be tossed into the very middle of one. Series 1-6 is one story, so you could start with series 1.

Intervention Earth / Enemy Lines is one arc, so that would be a decent starting point as well, and then you could either listen to Time War or go back to series 1-6.

I actually started Gallifrey with listening to Time War 1-3 and then went back to series 1 and worked my way back up. If you’re a romana fan I think that’s actually a great way to begin. I would just be sure to go back to the very beginning once your finished with Time War 3 if you do this.

Gallifrey is truly amazing, but no matter where you start, please make sure you listen all the way through whatever series you purchase because it can seem slow paced at first.

I wasn’t truly hooked until I reached the end of Time War 1, and I think if I had started from the beginning, I wouldn’t have been hooked until the fourth episode (A Blind Eye).

(There’s also a bit of romana backstory in Big Finish releases that take place before Gallifrey such as The Apocalypse Element and Neverland/Zagreus if you want to hear those at some point; they’re free on Spotify and Apple Music but you don’t necessarily need to hear them)

(As a little endnote, definitely don’t listen to the most recent releases (Time War 4 and War Room) until you’ve listened to all of the rest of Gallifrey.
