A story I wrote based off a prompt…

My brain basically yelled, “BITCH, WRITE THIS!”

There was an angel and a human. They were best friends, but they loved each other more than the angel loved heaven. He loved the human so much he was willing to sacrifice being an angel. They ended up adopting a son, a part angel and a human. One day, the son was going to be taken to a place where angels suffer. The angel made a deal with the being that took his son. The being said that they would take him when he was truly happy and the debt would be paid. One day, it came. He told the human that he had changed him and that he loved him. The human begged him not to do this but the deal could not be reversed. As he disappeared into shadow, the human lost a part of his soul and heart watching the love of his life disappear forever.

I want to say that with trans folk now being at risk of the fucking death sentence in Florida....

The time for community is Now. The time to start planning and organizing how to get our rights back is NOW. bring it up at your local LGBT craft events or book club or support group or whatever. Tell your friends. Spread the word. And maybe see which ones will have the safety and resources you'll need should a Lavender Hunt happen in your area.

And on the scarier end of reality....

This is fucking terrifying. Lots of people are at risk. Personally, I'm terrified this rhetoric will spread much like Trumpism did. I'm scared for my gf and I'm fucking scared for myself because we know historically that it isn't just trans folk on HRT or drag performers that they go after.

And you have every right to do whatever you need to protect yourself.

I'm not going to shame folks who quit HRT, who take the rainbows out of their bio, the people who start saying partner instead of revealing a gender, or anyone else taking a few steps towards the safety that the closet provides. WE shouldn't.

Let Me Talk About Werewolves for a Second

Why is it that every werewolf book is this weird testosterone fueled alpha male/female romance thing? 

Like guys. Werewolves are family groups. They are basically big ol’ dog families. Your werewolf family wouldn’t be made up of alpha males fighting each other for dominance and subjugating females. 

If there was a werewolf in your neighborhood, they’d be that family of 10 kids always roughhousing outside and their house is the one all the neighborhood kids go to hang out at because Mr. Werewolf and Mrs. Werewolf are the Cool Parents that their kids find really embarrassing.

My hands shook. I was a new lawyer at this firm and I had just received word from my boss that I would be representing Hera. He didn’t specify the fact that she was a goddess. “Fuck, I’m screwed.” I thought. My friend Carissa texted me, saying “You got this! Hera is super nice!” I smiled. Carissa was a single mom of two twin girls. Their father was a douchebag and left the second the twins were born. How does this relate to Hera divorcing from Zeus? Oh, right. The fact that the twins Anya and Sara were children of Zeus. Greek gods are common. My brother who is a hunter, is friends with Artemis, which shocked the hell out of me, due to fact Artemis normally hates men. Carissa’s sister is a gardener and got help from Demeter. Anya and Sara were often babysitted by Hera, which is how Carissa knew her. A woman walked into my office. I jumped. She smiled, and said, “My name is Hera. Queen of the gods.”

I said, “ Hi. I’m Ellen Paisley, and you are taking divorce papers out against your husband, Zeus?”

Hera nodded. “Exactly. You see, I have a problem with him whoring around with humans and I should have done this millennium ago. I finally found someone who loves me, and not in the way Zeus loves me. A mortal woman named Carissa.”

I looked at Hera in shock. She was in love with Carissa? I smiled. “Carissa will be very happy to know when you are divorced, you can live a happy life together.” Hera smiled, and responded, “Let’s get to work.”

Some time later, I was invited to Carissa and Hera’s wedding. Carissa had gotten the gift of immortality after Hera divorced from Zeus. It was on Olympus and I was happy to go. At the wedding, they had said their vows and I looked at Carissa. She was smiling bigger than I had ever seen her. I looked around at the people sitting next to me. Ares and Aphrodite were sitting to my left and a man I could only assume was the god Apollo. At the wedding feast, I noticed a man who sat in the background, with bright gold eyes…

Dean’s so Shaera coded. They are both older siblings who would do anything for their family, lost their brother, Dean on numerous occasions, Shaera by a dragon, lost a parent and always crushed by the weight of their expectations. They love deeply, and Shaera and Dean would give the world to Cas and Aemond.
