Oof! Its Been A Minute Since I Posted About The Food Ive Made. Tbh, I Havent Made Much Because Ive Finally

Oof! It’s been a minute since I posted about the food I’ve made. Tbh, i haven’t made much because I’ve finally started driving lessons! So here’s what I got:

- Apple Pie filling as a compote and syrup for my waffles.

- i usually do a berry compote, but we don’t have any and my mom bought apples so I used one

- i’m also ready for fall so…

- Canned Salmon and rice

- now before some of yall say “just buy fresh salmon” i’ll have you know, I am a college student. I am not buying fresh salmon.

- i didn’t do much with the salmon. It was already salty. Only thing I had to do really was debone it, which was a pain. Now that I know, i will be getting deboned cans now.

- i used white rice (i don’t remember the specific brand) put a nice good lob of butter and a little bit of garlic salt in it before it boiled. Stir and then let the rice do its thang! (I was actually really proud of the rice. I’m usually too scared to make rice but it was literally the perfect rice 😌).

- i made a soy sauce and brown sugar sauce. Everything is to taste. I put garlic in it, as well as green onions and red pepper flakes. Usually I put sriracha in it, but this time i drizzled it on the salmon and rice itself.

- ate it with avocado bc the Jamaican in me can’t go a meal without wanting a pear on the side. (We call avocados pear!)

- made a berry mule (non alcoholic bc I’m underage and personal views of alcohol)

- used some leftover berry compote, Jamaican Ginger Beer (literally the only one I ever use) and a whole lime. (I like mine on the sour side).

I have no pictures bc I’m a fricken loser and also a very hungry gal so🤷🏾‍♀️.

palestinian children are dying of heart attacks because of the constant fear and nervous system exhaustion of near 24 hr bombardment. for ELEVEN FULL MONTHS palestinian children have been dying of heart attacks. dying from fear.

nothing more embarrassing than holding a blonde man dear in your thoughts. you were supposed to be the enemy.

So I watched the Migration movie today and I was enjoying it up until I met this Jamaican bird named Delroy.

The issue isn’t that he’s Jamaican, bc I’m Jamaican American and I love to see representation of my culture. But it was the voice actor that completly ruined the rest of the movie for me.

His accent was off. And for those of you who don’t know Patois and the Jamaican accent in general, it may be hard even realize, but it sucked.

My issue is that they casted an American who did it. Not even a Jamaican American who was raised with Jamaican family. I’m sure there are so many Jamaican actors and actresses that could have embodied the role so much better.

I don’t only want to see proper POC representation in live actions. I want it in animation too. And that includes language, dialects, and accents.
