Ok, so, the way he treats kids in his own era is ALSO big brother-coded

Like, sure, he's a dick to Shippo and stuff, but that's just how big siblings are. As a big sibling myself, I can attest to bullying my younger brothers on a regular basis

But, aside from bullying Shippo, he was devastated when he thought Shippo and Kagome were dead (yes, I'm aware it was mostly like "ooohhhh Kagome don't leave me wahhhhh" but he was also upset about Shippo, trust)
