meet Shir-Kani Tigris, Lala’s older brother

Here are a few fun facts about him:

He’s older than Lala by about 4 years; she’s 17 currently and thus Shir is 21 

Shir’s also actually an alumni of Night Raven College and used to be part of the Savanaclaw dorm (just like Lala currently)

His name [Shir] is a variation of [Shere] which means “Tiger” or “Lion”, while his other name “Kani” means “Strength; Energy; Powerful; Price”

He towers over his little sister, well given that she’s 156cm it’s not too hard to be taller than her; his height btw is 202cm-- yes, he’s as tall as Malleus

He’s the next in line to become “King” of his clan, although he appears to have no attachments to such a title even though he takes his responsibilities seriously

Shir’s an affable and kind guy, if a bit aloof-- he’s also a pretty serious guys, though not too serious that he’s a stick in the mud... although Lala begs to differ. 

He’s also really an overprotective guy, tho this trait isn't at all uncommon in their clan, who will go so far as to be a bodyguard for someone whom he deeply cares about 24/7 (this also extends to his little sister despite her being able to soundly kick his ass 10 times over despite their height and size difference, and the fact that Shir himself is NO PUSHOVER and is really strong himself)

Though he no longer attends the school, at times whenever he’s free from his duties he goes to visit whenever and tries to catch up with Lala... who seems intent to either avoid him/stalk him from afar like a predator would a prey, or challenge him to a death match. Either of the two really.

Shir doesn’t like to admit it but he’s ticklish on the nape of his neck (which is mainly the reason why he grew out his hair and is wearing his current outfit)

Lala: It’s been a long time, aniki~. Want to indulge in a lil sparing for “old time’s sake”~?

Shir: As usual, your itch for blood hasn’t deterred... 

Lala: Of course~! It’s YOU I’m facing against after all. The one I most want to beat and tear apart myself~. 

Shir: .... 

Lala: Stop looking at me with that fucking look of pity on your face, Shir. *her smiles drops as her eyes open with a vicious glare* Every time we meet, you always have that look. It’s pathetic. The next in line has no right to be soft, especially in our clan. Ya know that just as well as I do.

Shir: Of course, the two of us know that all a little too well. .... I just--

Lala: Finish that sentence and I will rip out your throat this instant. And you know very well I could do that barehanded.

Shir: ..... (I know I’ve already apologized to you a thousand times, and you said you’ve long since forgiven me but... that day really made its mark on your psyche... tch.... I really am a failure as an older brother.)

The already present smile on Lala's face stretches even wider as she lightly sways from side to side, occasionally standing only with her toes. "I see, I see~. Well that's good, otherwise it would have been boring that I went out all the way here just to find out either of you were weak~."

"I'll cut to the chase then~," her boots firmly planted themselves onto the ground as without missing a beat she continued, the smile on her face remained unwavering as her eyes remained closed.

"I want to fight~. Or are either of you too chicken~?"

Sure it was underhanded but she didn't care. So long as it gets things going then Lala was willing to goad on opposition.

Guts and Ulysses Finn, the two shark boys of Octavinelle!

Guts, 3rd year: "If it keeps my stomach full then, I couldn’t care less."

Ulysses Finn, 2nd year: "Ya wanna see exactly what this ‘pipsqueak' can do to ya?"

The two brutish and surly boys of Octavinelle with a penchant for 'physical coercion' when correcting things that don’t go the way Azul wants them to go. Think they look similar? That's because they're half-brothers!

Guts isn’t his real name, it’s the name that Azul gave him when he came under Azul's contract. He has no last name, seeing as he did something in his past that had wronged his family, and resulted in him being disowned by his family. He is the elder brother of Ulysses. He isn’t particularly fond of talking, and doesn’t seem too fond of using his head either. Despite his disdain for Azul's crafty methods, he follows him loyally like a dog. He is indebted to Azul for a wish that he somewhat regrets, however he doesn’t care enough to try to leave it; he must often withstands Azul's punishments for falling below some of Octavinelle's high expectations, especially within his grades.

Ulysses is the younger brother who bears a great grudge against his brother — for ruining the family reputation and soiling his name. He desperately wants Guts dead, however in the contract he formed with Azul — he was left unable to even injure his brother. Ulysses is a prideful, violent, and brutal boy with little to no regards for others. He often has to be reeled back in by someone else; he has earned the nickname, 'Wild Dog' amongst some Octavinelle members. Despite his demeanor, he's got a knack for academics — something that he prides himself on, as it places him up higher than his half-brother.

The two of them have matching gill tattoos on the backs of their necks, as a signifier of their family (or former family, if you are Guts) — however Guts also has a back tattoo that wraps around much of his torso, a 'gift' from Azul as to have Guts prove his loyalty, as he didn’t seem capable of following Octavinelle's strict restrictions. Ulysses is rather scorned by this, seeing someone who shares the same blood as him can be so pathetic and inadequate, but also he feels rather satisfied — as the vile brother who soiled his reputation is being punished for his crimes. it would be much more satisfying if he would scream in pain, but there's only one thing that Ulysses can reluctantly praise his brother on, and that is his resilience.
