Okay but Lucas’ quote is a direct reference to one of the sweetest and most touching nouvelle vague scenes of French cinema (Le mépris, Godard, 1963), where they’re laying naked on the bed and the girl won’t stop asking the guy if he loves this or that part of her body and he always answers yes, that he loves everything about her, and they caress each other and everything’s tender and soft and I think I’m gonna go die now
