Headcanon that Bruce’s kids have all pulled the ‘you're not my father card’ at some point or the other and by the time steph rolled around he didn't even take it seriously

Of course, the first time dick said it, bruce cried himself to sleep. But by the eighteenth time, he was numb to it. “Dickie just eat your peas.” 

The first time jason did it Bruce pulled him aside and said “i know Im not, but that doesn't mean i don't care for you jason.” by the twenty fifth time he just held up the adoption papers

The first time Tim said it Bruce laughed. “Tim, you literally forced me to adopt you. Yes I am your father.” Tim didn't bother to say it from then on, maybe muttering ‘you're not my dad!’ under his breath at the computer, just for bruce to whisper ominously ‘yes i am.’ 

When Steph said it, full of anger and hate and sadness and fear, bruce just followed her and said “you're right. Im not your father. And i will never be your father. But, if you'll let me, id like to be better.” After that any time steph said ‘ur not my father’ bruce would just respond with ‘never will be’

Cass said “your are my father” and left no room for argument

Babs said “ur not my dad or my father or even close to being any of it, but you are my mom.” bruce just had to accept that

When damian said it bruce just stood there for a solid fifteen minutes rebooting. Dick and jason fell out of their chairs laughing. 

Duke specifically went “ur my dad! My dad! Boogie woogie woogie!’ and bruce was just like ‘bet aight.”

Robin and Raven Have a Trauma Song Playlist

Here me out.

(I'm think Dick Grayson Robin, but it might work for some of the other robins as well I haven't thought about that tho)

They both went though some shit

Also Dick thinks he has to be in control of his emotions, especially negative ones, and hates it when he ends up lashing out.

Raven does what she can to show little to no emotion at all because of her father and her powers, and also hates it when she's not in complete control of them.

Also in at least some canons Raven went into Dicks mind for some reason or another.

And Dick is Robin and knows just bout anything about anybody on his team.

As well as I personally headcanon them as having a more or less sibling relationship.

So you know the teasing, but also being closer and a bit more protective of the other than they are of the rest of the team, also more comfortable with telling the other things about them then they would be telling others.

So they are comfortable with each other, and know at least a bit about what the others got going in the way of trauma.

Imagine them being alone in the tower or where ever they have as a base/house while the rest of the team is away and they're doing some karaoke with said playlist.

Dick is either being very chill about it but the emotion is clear in his voice, or is singing his heart out, and Ravens being chill about it, but letting a little emotion out to prosses it and all but not enough to do much.

They don't mention it to anybody else because it's just for them. Songs that either 1 or both have found relate to them because of their trauma in one way or another and can listen to when their able to at least parity let their guard down to help them overcame and accept that whatever happened happened and they can continue.

I just thought it would be cool, and am currently working on it, please let me know your thoughts

In depth please!!! I dont care if it takes a minute or 5 to understand, but

1 I wanna hear a good rant

And

2 I intruiged and wanna hear all I can about it both from my reasearch and others as well ßee if they line up or if there are some differences and what they are if so

I've been procrastinating on a WIP on how the metagene could potentially work with a non-handwavey explanation that has roots in real-world science & is cool as shit. And how you might ask: integrated viruses! Because for the past 2 months I've been focused on learning as much as I can on integrated viruses & trying to explain it in a comprehensive way that requires no previous knowledge to understand. But I now realize folks probably aren't going to be interested in the technical scientific reasoning so I'm debating on scrapping it and rewording the whole thing in simpler language.

but also, I've worked hard on getting this research to the point where it currently is. So I'd feel bad about scrapping it. It's mainly that I wrote a ton of different paragraphs about different topics but am having a hard time putting them together in a way that's easy to follow because my thoughts tend to bounce back and forth so explaining it in a linear manner is difficult for me.

What would yall prefer? An in-depth explanation of how I think the metagene and integrated viruses could connect or would ya'll just prefer a glance over of the topic?

This is a story in a collection I an writing of hurt/comfort oneshots for me to vent and possibly give others the same comfort.

Overworked

At first Lucifer was happy with [Name]'s increase in work, but it didn't take long for him to notice the bags under their eyes getting worse, and that they would forget to show up for meals. He was starting to get worried for the exchange student.

He had requested [Name] to go to his office after classes. Before they could show up he prepared some tea, [preferred alcohol], demonus, and biscuits to talk over. Was he the cause of this? Had he Lucifer made [Name] feel like they had to work harder and risk overworking themself? His pride kept him from that to be the answer. Even so he couldn't help, but wonder.

*After Classes*

[Name] was quick on their way to Lucifer's office so they could get back to their work asap. They didn't want to have to think, and talking to him required just that. However Lucifer said that they needed to have a discussion, and if they didn't show the punishment he would set up would get in the way of their work.

Just before [Name] knocked on the door Lucifer opened it, and gestured them in before sitting back down. They walked in and sat at the chair across from him.

"[Name]... Do you know why I called you here?"

"No, Lucifer I don't know why," they took a breathe, "I'd it about the Exchange Program?"

Lucifer shook his head, "while I should be glad that you are concerned about the Exchange Program, and you getting more work done, I am not."

"I- Why not?" They said with some noticeable worry

"Did you think for even a second that I wouldn't notice?"

"... notice what?" They questioned, unsure as to what he was talking about.

He sighed, "the bags under your eyes, you skipping meals, must I go on? You're clearly overworking yourself. That isn't good for a human, and your health is important."

"I-" "I'm not done talking," he cut you off, "until this gets better you will be sleeping in 1 of our rooms and coming to meals with at least 1 of us so we know that you are eating and sleeping." He walked around his desk and knelt down next to them," I- we may not be good at showing it, but we do care about you and if you won't or forgot to take care of yourself we will." He said with one of the softest voices he could muster. "Now here you go," he hands you some biscuits and a small glass of [your favorite achohal or drink] as he sits back down and pours himself a glass a demonus, "now tell me, what has caused you to overwork yourself?"

Mammon stopped in his tracks

"Wait. . . [Name] are. . . are you alright?"

[Name] was sitting in a corner, curled up in a ball, and there were a few tears staining their face. Mammon had just busted into their room, as he does, wanting to hangout with [Name], expecting to see them doing their usual routine. Instead he saw then like this, and didn't really know what had happened.

*[Name] Memory*

[Name] was crying over who knows what, but that was to be expected of an 8 year old for they don't know how to regulate their emotions yet. They're just a kid still learning. Even so they were hidden out of sight so their aunt couldn't see, but even with their attempt at hiding their crying their aunt could still hear. "Stop crying you have no reason to!"

*End of Memory*

"Oh- Hey Mammon. Need anything?" [Name] tried to say in a joyful tone as they quickly wiped their tears, but he had already seen. He slowly walked up to [Name] as to not risk scaring them, while looking for any sign of distress on them from his actions.

When [Name] didn't move away from him he continued until he was just 2 steps infront of them. He slowly raised his arm to partly hold them.

He didn't ask or say anything, if they wanted to talk he'll listen, but otherwise he's cool with just letting them cry into his shoulder for as long as they need.
