Gender neutral reader Pairing: Yandere!Echo x reader (Post-Citadel)

Man’s suffered through a lot of things during his time with the Techno Union. Call him the Bucky Barnes of clones if you will.

Fought in a war, had a best friend, was captured by enemy forces, lost limbs in the process, was experimented on, had their free will taken from them, was rescued, and they're cynical and grumpy in the aftermath (how could I blame them though they've been through so much).

Having his free will taken from him has left Echo very distrustful and slow to love. But you. You somehow managed to break down his walls of distrust, one gesture at a time.

Obsessive and protective, he’s drawn to someone who’s patient yet isn’t afraid to seek him out. Someone who will take the initative to do things until Echo himself is comfortable, it doesn't really matter if his cyare is an introvert or an extrovert. Bonus if they're good at repairing cybernetic parts.

At first, Echo will keep you at a distance until you’ve gained some mutual level of trust.

If Echo's cyare doesn't make the first move everything would be delayed and his obsession would take so much longer to form. Only through constant interactions will you set the events in motion.

Unknowingly, you awaken something twisted inside of Echo when you bring him some painkillers after his pains from his cybernetics have been acting up lately. He doesn't dare say it out loud, but he's touched by the gesture.

If only you knew your kind gestures would lead to your downfall, you wouldn't have gone out of your way to fix his cybernetics when Tech was busy, you wouldn't have gone out of your way to share your food, you wouldn't have cuddled him when you noticed him curling on in himself. If only.

The cybernetics on Echo's body, thin frame, and uncharacteristically pale skin are constant reminders of his past demons and his insecurity about his appearance.

The final nail in the coffin is when you reassure him about his appearance. You list out all sorts of positive things about him he wasn't even aware he had. Remind him that his mind is his own now. You seem to know exactly what to say to make him feel better.

Echo feels a urge to hold you close to him. You make him feel so happy, something he hasn't felt in such a long time.

He's heard rumors about these feelings from his brothers. A rumor about having feelings so hard for a person you're willing to do anything for them. Even desertion.

Spoken in hushed tones and passed down from clone to clone, Echo’s heard his fair share of those rumors. In the past he ignored it and focused on his duties, but meeting you now he understands.

He remembers the Senate, Kaminoans, and GAR all tried to snuff the feelings out and disregard them. But it only made the clones more secretive.

Protection is all that Echo thinks he can offer. This galaxy is a big and dangerous place to be in. You need an example? Look at him. He doesn't care if he's really overbearing. He truly believes he's doing what's best for you.

Someone as kind as you needs to be protected at all costs. The thought of you getting injured, no matter how small, makes him recoil.

Really good at masking his obsession with protectiveness (During his time in the 501st he learned what not to do from Fives). By the time you notice red flags in your relationship it's a tad bit too late to back out now. Whoops, sorry. Maybe in another life.

The grumpy tone in his voice is gone if he's with you. The way Tech quirks an eyebrow or Hunter's surprised look doesn't go unnoticed by you. You're flattered, but you just think that you're one of the few people (besides clones) he likes.

With the current life they lead, Echo's unable to 'protect' you the way he wants to. But he will if he can. You'll be paired with him during missions, you only have to pass Echo tools when he's doing repairs on the Marauder.

Stop complaining, he's not treating you like a child. He's just keeping you as safe as he can. You're gonna start acting like a child if you keep complaining.

In the event you get injured, Echo freaks out. Echo has a calm and sassy attitude but is rarely frantic. Doesn't matter if it was a minor blaster wound or a laceration on your arm, he freaks out the same.

When your wounds are getting treated, the frantic attitude is replaced by a huffy and grumpy one, harshly scolding you. He only stops when you curl in on yourself in pain.

"As your comrade it is my responsibility to watch over you. You are never to repeat this stunt, do you understand?"

Touch starved and yearns for warmth, if you cuddle or sleep next to each other Echo has a death grip on you. Suffocating for sure and it's really hard to get him to loosen up.

If his cyborg parts aren't enough to deter any potential suitors or friends, they'll be met with a scowl and a glare strong enough to scare off anyone. Even if that doesn't work he isn't afraid to get his hands hand a little... bloody.

"Why are your blacks soaked in blood?"

"No, cyare. That's not blood. Well- not human anyways."

I mean, Echo was right. It wasn't a human's blood, but it was a Pantoran's blood. He never said it was animal blood.

Echo dreams of moving to a remote planet and settling down with you. His brothers, their cyares, and his sister would come visit them once in a while. Though with the current circumstances he knows it will never be possible, but maybe if he dreamt enough it would happen.

He's faced so much in his life, doesn't he deserve to have you as a reward for making it through this far? You make him so happy, he can't let you go. He just can't.

Guess that’s thanks to the droids’ bad aim. Plo’s yelling didn’t get Wolffe’s attention; he still stood there, staring at the girl of his dreams. This girl just so happened to be you. You were kneeling on the ground, tying a bandage around one of the troopers who who shot in the arm. A simple maneuver, its purpose simply being to cut off blood flow to prevent blood loss, but every time Wolffe saw you do this, it was like watching you perform the galaxy’s hardest surgery. Everything you did was perfect and with grace in his eyes. He wanted you. No, he needed you. He had an idea.
