There are different types of voices in the world. The ones you don’t want to hear, the ones that are rather average and the ones you want to hear all the time.

And Jongho belongs to the last group.

You couldn’t quite explain it really, how attracted you were to voices (Jongho’s voice, specifically). Having a talent to distinguish voices has landed you a job in KQ Entertainment, where you worked alongside other great producers. Many people deemed you as young and inexperienced, but it was Jongho that insisted to KQ that you were worth teaching and it was also Jongho that stood by you when you were hesitant and afraid. And of course KQ had grown you into a budding enthusiast for producing music.

Jongho and you were as different as the night is from the day, but this weird connection with music has led you two to be the best of friends. You mused at how introverted you were (and still are) as his outgoing personality has let him gain many new friends in the music industry.

You sat inside the recording studio, facing the board as you fiddled with the controls. You hummed ATEEZ’s latest tune, drumming your fingers to the upbeat rhythm of Wave as Jongho jumped on your from behind, “Boo!” He flashed a foxy grin and you rolled his eyes, “Hi Jongho. I already knew that you were going to do that.”

“Nah, you did not. You almost fell out of your chair!” He leaned his elbow on the head of the swivel chair. “That’s because you are too strong.” Just as he sat down, Hongjoong entered the room with a smile on his face, his red hair complimenting his face, “If it isn’t my favorite 00 liner!” That earned him a rather loud whack from Jongho. 

“Come on, let’s get recording. Wooyoung and San will be arriving a little late due to their other schedule.” He pointed out and you nodded. Mentally going through the parts where Jongho sang, you played the remix as Hongjoong sat beside you. Being your informal teacher, you’ve learnt quite a bit from Hongjoong and you were grateful for any opportunity to produce music alongside him.

After a while of recording, Hongjoong suggested, “Let’s take a break. I’m going to grab some drinks.” “Hyung I want the most expensive thing there.” Jongho joked and Hongjoong sent a flying pillow his way, “And I’ll get my favorite producer grape juice. I’ll be back.” As soon as he said that he moved out of the room. Jongho took a swig from his water bottle and went back into the recording area, “Can we practice the high note one more time?”

You raised an eyebrow, “You’re going to strain your voice.” “But I’m not perfect yet. Can we take it from the top?” He clasped his hands together and you couldn’t resist, “Okay, everything but the high note.” You bargained and he nodded. You inwardly sighed as you played the remix. Sometimes Jongho doesn’t take care of himself well and it was usually up to you to remind him. You watched as he made eye contact with you, swaying his body a bit as he sang.

When it came to the very last verse, you pressed the communicate button, “I’m sorry for interrupting but...” “...I screwed up right? I swear I heard my voice crack.” He fiddled with the cord of the headphones and you shook your head to reassure him, “No! Your singing is so good! I love hearing your voice. Repeat that one more time. Please?” You held up one finger.

A moment of silence passed between you two and with a slightly pink face Jongho agreed. Whipping out your phone, you connected it to the system to record his voice as he belted out the high note again, singing the rest effortlessly. He stepped out of the room and he rubbed the back of his neck, pointing at the recording on your phone, “I-If you wanted me to sing, I could d-do it anytime you know.”

“Really? Then would you sing for me everyday?” The door creaked open, revealing a semi-smiling Hongjoong. 

“I did not just step in here. Please ignore me.” Hongjoong backtracked and Jongho ran out after his hyung, “HYUNG! YOU-!”

“We’re in the middle of a thunderstorm and you want to stop and feel the rain?” - Changmin

Changmin burrowed his nose into the woolen material of his coat, stuffing his glove-clad hands into his pocket as he waited for you to finish your shift. He lowered his head as he tried to not let anyone recognize him. “Min! I finished work early today!”

 You back-hugged him, causing him to smile. 

“Let’s go.” He shifted the umbrella to his right hand, opening it and he took your bag, looping the bag straps over his shoulders. “It’s snowing a lot today.” You noted, “That means hot cocoa and snuggle time later!” His heart fluttered and he pressed a kiss to your cheeks, “I can’t wait!” He said with the same amount of excitement, a bounce in his step. A loud whoosh was heard and rain started pouring. 

“Oh?” Changmin glanced at you as you stared at the fat droplets. You stuck your hand out of the umbrella, “I want to feel the rain.” As soon as you said that, Mother Nature had seemed to agree and the rain poured even heavier. Everyone around you two ran, finding shelter. The thunder sounded and Changmin looked at you incredulously, “We’re in the middle of a thunderstorm and you want to stop and feel the rain?” Before he could even stop you, you let out a high-pitched yelp and you spun in circles, a big smile forming on your face as you, shouting in joy. Someone yelled “You’re crazy!” to the left, but all Changmin could think of was how absolutely ethereal you look. It seemed like time had stopped and he was just laughing as you grinned, the sides of your lips reaching your eyes. 

He snapped out of it, “Oh my gosh! Come back here!” He lightly padded towards you and you giggled, “That was so fun!” Thankfully you had had your coat on and the hood over your head, but Changmin hustled you back to your little studio apartment. “Come on, you need to change out of those.” He unloaded your things as a silly grin formed on his face, recalling how child-like you were. You disappeared into the toilet, and he took the towel hanging near the window. He sat down on your bed and you emerged, clad in your pyjamas. 

“Seat here.” He patted the empty spot in front of him and you bounded to him and you curled up on the floor. “You should have joined me. It was refreshing.” You paused and you sneezed into your shoulder. “And if I did, who is going to take care of us when we’re sick, hmm?” He lightly draped the towel over your head and dried your hair. 

“Uhm...Jacob oppa?” Changmin let out a huff, “I’m going to leave.” “Ah~! Changmin I was kidding! You know ” You laughed as you held onto his legs, and though you weren’t looking at him, Changmin knew you were full on grinning. You sneezed another time and Changmin scooped you up, “Let’s cuddle.” 

“I was just going to suggest that.”
