dreams. such weird little things, are they not? they take so long to build, so less to crumble.

since childhood, yoongi had wanted to become a music producer. he had wanted the tunes of his piano to reach every corner of the world. however, with every new rejection, his hopes were dwindling. do dreams always come true? willl his one become a reality, or will it remain a theory, a wish forever?

you had been yoongi’s friend since the beginning of the universe. you remember pulling those dumpling cheeks of his ( you still do that ). it broke your heart to see your friend in so much pain. every night, you prayed that he would achieve all his dreams.

sometimes, yoongi would tell you about the methods that he applied while producing tunes. the more that he said, the less you knew. however, you let him speak about it. anything for those eyes shining with passion and lips curling into a gummy smile.

you had always pictured yoongi as a willow. a guy who is flexible enough to adjust with the surroundings. One day he had fallen asleep on your couch. When he woke up the next morning, he found a little willow drawn with glitter pens on his forearm. That made him euphoric for the rest of the week.

neither of you were really good at expressing your emotions. it would be awkward pauses and equally awkward sentences. but are words always the thing that you need? isn’t friendship a bond of the heartstrings? both of you knew that during times of trouble, you could always be there for the other. silently. effectively.

one day yoongi crashed at your place at midnight. you were sleepy and confused. his cheeks were glistening with dried tears. yoongi was not into much skinship, yet he hugged you. you hugged him back, still confused. he took a deep breath and said, “i got selected. i am officially a producer from now.” your face lit up like the christmas fairylights. you pulled him into the house and looked for your speaker.

a faint music started to play. yoongi recognised it. it was the first tune that he had made. you had still kept it? you explained, “i wanted to play this to celebrate your achievement. today is the day!” you took his hand and the two of you slow danced.

you smiled and thought, that’s my man.
