Can we talk about what they are really asking of Kara when they take away Alex’s connection to her as Supergirl?!?

Let’s take a look at what they have been through since Kara became supergirl!

Yes they were close before, but since Kara joined the DEO her and Alex have become Soooo much closer.

They learn new things about each other

They fight for each other.

Alex is the only person that truly understand Kara’s past on a deep meaningful level.

As a result Kara trusts Alex explicitly.

Alex grounds her.

Alex is the one constant in Kara’s life since she was sent to this planet, ALONE.

And as we know, being alone is one of Kara’s greatest fears.

She needs Alex, BOTH as Supergirl and as Kara Zor-El/Danvers the last daughter of Krypton

So who is Kara/Supergirl without Alex, really? Who is Supergirl without the last remaining human connection in National City that truly knows who she is, what she as been through, and how to help her deal with her past? Will she be the same? Is it so simple? I think not.
