🔵 'Titan' new :)) This is oil painting on high quality linen and custom made canvas. The style is defined by sculptural use of paint. It is 3-D, built-up mixture of many layers of thick gesso, paint, sand and other materials.  I'm inspired by the #structure of #Saturn 's Moons. This one was inspired by the surface of the satellite called #Titan . It is the largest moon of Saturn and the second-largest natural satellite in the Solar System. It is the only moon known to have a dense atmosphere. It is the second-largest moon in the Solar System after Jupiter's moon Ganymede, and is larger than the planet Mercury, but only 40% as massive. Discovered in 1655 by the Dutch astronomer Christiaan Huygens, Titan was the first known moon of Saturn, and the sixth known planetary satellite (after Earth's moon and the four Galilean moons of Jupiter). Titan is primarily composed of ice and rocky material. The thick atmosphere is orange due to a dense organonitrogen haze. The name Titan, and the names of all seven satellites of Saturn then known, came from John Herschel in his 1847 publication. He suggested the names of the mythological Titans, brothers and sisters of Cronus, the #Greek Saturn.
