okay but i actually love that theory. i love the idea that (the first) kyle was basically a kind of family legend, more of a character really than an uncle. and i love the idea that frederick naming his son kyle is a way of him finally coming to terms with his family heritage. maybe it was also a way to get his uncle back or to give him a second chance, too...

Hello! Yeah I definitely think that’s very likely. Especially because (the first) Kyle spent so much time away from home I can imagine Virgil telling his sons slightly exaggerated stories about their uncle. Now that I think about it actually, (the second) Kyle might’ve been called that by Frederick because naming his son after a less morally sound member of the family could be a sign of him coming to terms with his family heritage like he began to do in The Crooked Kind!
