How do I worship God if I have religious trauma and try to find another way to get closer to him that is less harmful? Can he wait for me? Be patient with me?
Because personally I have a difficult relationship to religion and God because I am stuck in a toxic church and environment and they are very conservative but idk how to not give up on God because I dont want to
he will wait. he will also come to you, if you need that. a prayer can be a ‘thank you’ you whisper when you crawl into bed. mass can be the blankets around you, or, the window you keep open a crack, or, whoever you let into that bed with you (god or some other lover)

you have to stop hating yourself for not taking care of yourself before you can start taking care of yourself in a more sustainable way

I love that, what a humble and realistic approach to religious speaking. I don't have the answers and your answer is going to be unique to you. But here are some thoughts that could be helpful

your life looking different than you imagined does not make you a failure
Jesus knows your suffering more intimately than anyone or anything ever could. He was tortured and humiliated for your sake. His love is incomparable to anything you can ever experience in this life.
