Midnight brainrot:

Max began to cough up various flower petals when he was just 16 years old. At first, it had been small daisies and they were almost months apart, but as time goes by, he began to cough up other petals too, and the interval between the coughing ups shrunk to almost daily occurrences, until he could no longer go a day without coughing up at least once.

The peak came with the 2021 season in F1, when he finally had the chance of getting his first championship title. But even during the races, he felt the petals piling up in his mouth, so he either swallowed them or spit them out when nobody was looking, or so he thought.

"It's rare to see someone with this disease by now," the familiar voice of a certain Thai-British driver startles him, and he wasn't alone. Behind him was a small Japanese driver and a Chinese one, who both looked at him like they saw a corpse crying.

"Disease?" Max crooked out and regretted it immediately, sensing another wave of petals climbing up his throat. "Hanahaki Disease, an once fictional disease where a person suffers from coughing up petals when they love someone who doesn't love them back," Yuki tries to explain, but his shocked eyes tell Max that he couldn't form more words.

"And the petals you just coughed up," Alex helps out Yuki and pucks them up, making Max cringe - all his salvia, blood and germs are on those petals, "are from Chinese origin, I believe?"

"It's a hibiscus, yes," the Chinese man next to Yuki nods, "but I fear that you won't have much time left for your own glory, Max. It symbolises the fleeting beauty of fame or personal glory, and seeing as it's drenched in your blood, I presume it's almost too late for yours."

"What do you mean by that?" Max catches himself and gratefully drinks some small sips of a cooled down tea Alex gave him, "What does the fleeting beauty of fame or personal glory mean and what does it have to do with me?"

"I think it's best if we get you informed, but do you feel good enough for that?"

My childhood friend replaced me for someone else, again. It's the third time and I reached my breaking point. Expect some angst in the coming time because I have to cope :)
