🎧song of the day: Nightingale - Haken
Day 1 of classes, I have remote night classes in the new uni so I will start applying for jobs abroad and try to move out by november or earlier if everything goes according to plan. Basically it was syllabus day and a bit of publicity theory.

14.01.2021 — looking forward to the next semester! i’ve signed up for cs1 and although i have some cs experience outside of school, i’ve never taken an actual cs class before so i’m curious how it’ll go.

🫶🙇♀️ tysm !!!! prasee you're so nice all the time hehe
do not underestimate the power of cleaning your space, meditating and journaling your thoughts. especially journaling cause once you start brain dumping your thoughts you actually release them and once you do your higher self starts to show up in your writing. whenever I need ideas I start brain dumping all of my thoughts, tasks and things I have to do and it’s like I empty my mind and my concious mind and my subconscious mind takes over and I get these amazing downloads come through.
Sorry for not being very present i've been only vaguely paying attention to my studies honestly and getting into bug photography akfkallckqjw
how to not rot after a long day at school
₊˚ପ⊹ commute home while listening to music or a podcast that you enjoy. remember to be mindful of what you consume.
₊˚ପ⊹ get moving! physical activity can help to clear your mind and boost your energy. try going for a walk, doing some yoga, or even dancing to your favourite music.
₊˚ପ⊹ engage in hobbies such as reading, drawing, or playing a musical instrument.
₊˚ପ⊹ have something to eat! eating a snack can help replenish your energy levels. opt for nutrition over easy energy.
₊˚ପ⊹ make sure to listen to any app time limits set in place to limit screen time. if you take a bus or train, look out the window or people watch.

BTW, the belief that you have to leave where you are and go somewhere in order to connect with nature is part of the problem. You can literally connect with nature anywhere; yes, even in an urban environment. You have birds, bugs, plants, weather, seasons, etc. A lot of people need to stop thinking of nature as something out there and start recognizing that it's something that's already right here.
✏️ what no one tells you about how to journal 📒
i was sick of all the "how to journal" content out there recycling the same advice that sounds great but doesn't always work in the reality of daily life. you're welcome 😏 (also low-key a shitpost, but there are nuggets of wisdom in here, i promise 😇)

✍️ what to journal about ✍️
sure, you could journal about self development and treat your diary like your therapist, OR you could write about:
the pettiest grudge you're still holding onto from elementary school 😤
all the gossip about other people's lives that you have Strong Opinions™️ about, but you're a good person, so what goes in the journal, stays in the journal 🤫
all the witty comebacks you never say to people's faces because you're a sensible, non-confrontational person, but also you didn't think of it until later 🙃
the possibilities are endless, let your imagination run wild, and/or feel free to contact the blogger for more 🤭
🚫 when NOT to journal 🚫
this is just as, if not more, important as when to journal.
nothing to say — forget morning pages, i can barely string together a coherent greeting before lunch. also, a whole night's sleep is like a total memory wipe, so i have nothing to write about 🤷♀️ and don't listen to whoever says to just write "i have nothing to write about" because if you start enough entries with that, you're gonna begin to feel there's no point BUT THERE IS!! just not right now. and that's okay ☺️
too often — personally, i think it's important not to make journaling your one source of clarity 🔮 continue to think things through in your mind, confide in people you trust, and have moments (in nature, perhaps) that simply can't be transcribed to words 🌼
not feeling it — if you're too tired OR feel fulfilled and clear-headed enough about your day, don't make journaling a chore you have to do no matter what. if that means you don't journal everyday, then so be it 🌝
so when do you journal? in general, when doing so would add something to your day ☀️ whether that's peace, humor, gratitude, or something else.
🎁 materials 🎁
now for the fun part: let's go to the stationery store! 🛒
✒️ GET A PEN THAT WRITES SMOOTHLY! you are literally lowering the physical resistance that's keeping you from journaling, trust me it works. also pencils suck.
🔐 get a journal with a band, lock, clasp, button, etc. — just because it's fun, but it has the added benefit of securing your intellectual property(?)
have a separate journal for writing thoughts vs. schedules vs. todos vs. collections (TBR lists, recipes, etc.) — beats having to make and maintain a whole index to keep it all organized in just one (1) notebook 😵💫
🌸 stickers — are a pretty substitute for correction pens 😻 (in theory, but i have yet to use all the washi tape i bought 😅)
or just journal digitally, idgaf, do what works for you, okay? 😇
does anyone have recommendations for notion pages? that aren't academic
the layout i made has 4 pages; so far i have a page for productivity (calendar, reminders, and weekly to do lists), media reflections, personal (idk what i'm going to put in here???), and my empty page ...
i don't like databases, nothing like "daily logs" or common placing as i can't use notion on mobile, i'm not a creative person so i don't have anything like writing to put here?? having no academics for at least the next year is weird i'm not sure what to put in here
You have to stop ruining things for yourself preemptively because you believe they’ll fail anyway. Give yourself a chance to succeed.
🐍 || week of sept 23 reflection
yay ! i've done all of the things i wanted to do, and got some stuff done for my extra personal goals like for the job expo this thursday. i'm going to dedicate the rest of this week to preparing for that! i don't have a ton to do academically except finishing my presentation and a single GIS project.
🐍 || week of sept 23
today starts another week of working ahead. i've been considering going back to daily posts recently, but i still don't think these work well for my brain. i'm very interested in people that are able to make daily posts - how does it help or hurt? more importantly, for me, how to you break long goals into daily ones...?
the goals on sawc definitely worked somewhat for me, but i was recently considering moving those into a small journal or similar for myself only. separate from my scrapbook and all. i'm leaving this idea for the new year, though!
🦠 academic goals
plan my ethic's presentation as soon as the rubric for that is released get my coelocanths notes into an outline get my ceolocanths outline into a powerpoint get extra credit assignment for GIS done
🌵 personal goals
meal prep more go to a club meeting either thursday or friday plan to volunteer next week at some point get time off to go to a job expo next thursday DO THE LAUNDRY set up a scrapbook spread

name moodboard: order for “melina” | want one?
I've set up my 2025 notion homepage! I'd like to begin looking at my spare journals and pick one for daily journalling starting (which i'm just putting in my junk journal for now, and covering up with spreads as i need the space)
Does anyone have reccomendations for journals with nice pages that a gel pen won't bleed through? Specifically a pilot g2!

— 💭☀️ 2024 New Journal! Putting my new @poyura.co journal to good use! I was so excited to get this journal you guys, it's so cute and dainty and I can take it with me anywhere! It took me a while to figure out what I was going to use this journal for but I've decided to make this as my little wins and joys in life! (x)
